Kudos to CMDR iM2D for creating the original version.
Thanks to fellow Xeno Strike Force CMDRs Medi0cr3, Mackenheimer, Yesusyeet, and Rikaar D for greatly increasing the quality of the information!

Question: Is there any descriptions of what the alert statuses mean/how they are triggered?
That’s a very challenging question to answer based on how the “hive mind” works in TitanSpace (the Titan and its patrolling NPCs are connected.)

What we know for a fact:
  • Most importantly, Alert State correlates to the number of patrolling NPCs being launched (or recalled.) In “green state”, you’ll see most NPCs “launching to witchspace” and “recalling to Maw” - the number of actively patrolling NPCs is very small in green state (and massively increases in red alert state.) As Alert State decays to Green, active patrols are recalled to the Maw (and/or jump out to witchspace.)
  • In Green State, Titan Turretts are retracted. They deploy in Red Alert and remain deployed until state returns to green (when they retract.)
  • Red Alert state is required for the Titan Torus special attack to trigger (the Torus will never fire if Titan is not in Red Alert.)
  • Red Alert state is triggered by… a huge number of factors. Shooting the Titan’s hull triggers red alert. Being detected by patrols triggers red alert. Patrols chasing limpets or bio capsules keeps the Titan in Red Alert. Sometimes the Titan goes in Red Alert while you’re actively hiding and there is no apparent reason! (Maybe patrols scanned a Seed Mine and found it suspicious?!).
  • Alert State naturally decays over time if none of the events mentioned above occur (usually only if you’re actively hiding in the “safe spot” or in the asteroid field.)
  • Alert State and Titan Threat Level appear to be separate things. Threat Level has to do with the building to the Torus Special attack and the heat vents opening. Other than the Titan having to be in Red Alert for the Torus to fire, there seems to be limited overlap between the two systems.
  • We don’t know much about Orange and Yellow states, other than those being interim states as the Alert Level “naturally decays” from Red to Green. The Titan typically spends 90%+ of its time in either Green or Red states. We presume there’s more to them, but they don’t last long enough to make any meaningful observation.

All in all, we know a little, but there’s a LOT that we don’t know.
