Thargoid vs players

Hi all ..

Brief ...the stakes got ramped up..pvp players are there but pve are not ...so before you scream foul ...get to the pvp level.. :)

I had 11 guys to help boost my ego...so I'm neutral on the subject ...;)

Tough is good but this came far to0 late in my mind and players are lacking the basic skills required...what to do then ?

Get better and from Frontier, get working on skill improving programs asap..to teach the poor players how to defend against a mighty opponent. :)

Peace

People arent lacking piloting skills..
its frontiers own fault that majority aint playing with the goids. In all the previous years allmost nothing scaled with a bigger wing or more wings, exept PVP and mining.

if they wanted us to play together and fight this threat, they should have motivated player more to play together..

Also a 2m combat bond doesnt interest me in the slightest..
there should be more reward than some credits and some useless mats..

They also could simply crank the difficulty up in more steps, having a stair rather than a wall. I'm still not over that "adaptation" buff they got...

Also, apart from Basilisks I guess, they are not really hard as to say, they're hard to hit so most of us can't kill them, but with the right outfitting they don't do that much damage.
From my point of view, not being able to hit my target is way more frustrating than being overpowered, and that is also one of the reasons I don't do PvP ;)

I wouldn't mind them being hard to hit if it weren't for the fact that we can't synthesize ammo for AX weapons. To me, that's the biggest limitation and why so many have to resort to teaming up to take the Cyclopses/Basilisks down. It sucks most of the fun out of the fight for me. Finding other players willing to take down a Thargoid is too much of a hassle to be worth it, IMO.

I don't have a posse to call on to help me out fighting these things, and every one of my friends that I talked into buying this game gave up after a month out of sheer boredom and/or confusion. That means that the most I can usually do is swipe all the escape pods out from under the bugs and leave them there with the wreckage they made.

I've never been in danger of dying at the hands of a Thargoid, since my AX Anaconda is tough as nails, but the limited ammo means I have no real reason to even try to fight them, knowing I'll just run out again and have to retreat.

I'm hoping the Thargoid scouts will be turning up so I can go hunting them in my Cobra like in the good old days.

I think one issue is that a lot of people are waiting to see what's going to happen.

As everyone (literally everyone I've ever spoken to about it) has highlighted, and as Fdev have started to realise - the majority of players are very much in the dark.

"Who are the Thargoids? What does it matter if they're over there in the Pleiades? What benefit is there to killing them? Why should I go kill a Thargoid over just doing an assassination mission for my chosen faction? Why should I go get special weapons and have to get in a wing? What's the point? Are they even bad? Should we be fighting them?" etc. etc.

We're still at the very, very start of the "Thargoid Storyline" - so I'm not particularly worried about people not getting involved at this stage, I would call all you guys who go blasting away "early adpoters" in marketing parlance :) and in narrative terms, I think you're exactly right, we should be fighting them 100% (would you like to know more) - But I don't think we're yet at the point where Thargoid content is accessible to every player, that'll come (probably smaller ships, 1 v 1 encounters, etc.), but right now, not there, don't worry about it too much. If anything there's evidence that killing the ships just makes them tougher... so maybe go easy on them for a while :p

Thargoids aren't close enough to the bubble to cause concern. Once they start knocking on our front door is when the real action will start.

Wait for the new patch(es). It will be developed slowly if past experience is any indication.
