: 82nd Federal Marine Division ~ Airwing - Victor SQN
:F.O.B Watchtower ~ System: Elli - fed Hitech : status secure.
SQN Log 8- Cmdr Hardwick.
"It's been 8 weeks since the Thargoids launched the first waves of strikes on the research bases out past Merope and its two weeks since the Joint Expeditionary Fleet were last heard from. Rumours are that some ships have been doing a rear guard action allowing a few civilian ships left chance to escape, but like I said it's rumours nothing solid from the Brass have been passed down.
On our situation, things have been steady with regular convoy runs out to front line sectors with it being quite, the odd jittery Marine reports of thargoids in every passing shadow or ship but that's about it. Readiness for the Squadron is good with only one vessel out of action but that is for routine servicing.
Hardwick, Cmdr, Victor Squadron, signing off."
SQN Log 14 - Cmdr Hardwick.
"They hit the front and hit it hard a week ago and been at our throats ever since , Johnsons unit took seventy percent casualties in the first week of the engagement so Charlie SQN is virtually out of the fight. Thargiods managed to push a couple of ships through the gap and get to Elli this morning , Wright City took a pounding before we could take one out and force the other to disengage. We lost two ships the 'Vantage' and the 'Voyager' and the 'Vanguard' needs serious repairs, with three to one or more as a kill ratio we are going to bleed our selves dry defending Elli and the vital supply lines.
Word from elsewhere is just as dire, Empire has lost contact with a entire Cohort of the Nineth Legion and the Alliance is loosing ground in Lave and looks like retreating from it soon.
Other talk making the rounds is that mega ships are slipping away from the bubble to god knows where, with news like that moral is not the best, more so if I heard correctly that we are being moved to cover Charlie SQN postion!
Hardwick, Cmdr, Victor Squadron, signing off."
this is what hat I want to see for the thargiods if there is a war, a narrative for the different front and factions, I'm sure a Log from a Legate from a Imperial Legion would be awesome as well.
another thing I would do is a power play mechanic, so you would have sectors in the front and a PP cycle of combat- so a push on a thargiod sector with npc fleets needing support , supply runs- FOB's or stations low on munitions and fuel need support or more hazardous dropping supplies to troops under fire, troop movements- get your Beluga and move those troops to the front and casualties back , recce ops- go dark in a diamondback and scout enemy postions and the last one would be resistance fighter which would mean deep in thargiod held space with very few resources.
hopefully it would get a sense and scale of how the war is going and keep it a little fun as the devs add logs that reflects how the war is going for us.
