Thargoids Allegiance in BGS?

As someone have speculated in the past, the Thargoids will become an allegiance in BGS?

below you can see a small clipping, most notable examples are HIP 20827, HIP 20899, Swahku, Desurinbin but there is alot of settlements "Thargoid aligned" around the bubble, a wider list in this query on INARA <-- click here

Cocijo "regeneration" in Sol as "damaged/tourism" is interesting :sneaky:

Some Thargoid "hybrid-crew" manage even megaships?

Thargoids have always existed as a faction in the game, but just like the Pilot's Federation is also a faction?

This led to bugs where a Thargoid Interceptor could appear green like you were allied, but was ultimately a red herring.

I know it was, but not on human settlement with active services and "humans" inside.

Maybe just a BGS bug, maybe not, we will see.... maybe hybrid human-thargoid faction, Alliance freed them from quarantine, right?

Anyway Cocijo is "regenerating", instance is changing from old titans debris site, and see it as Tourist under repair is interesting.

just speculating.

I think this would be a really interesting and canny direction for FDev to go in. You can use the standard BGS mechanics to enable PX players to engage meaningfully in the Galaxy without having to PVP AX fighters. You could capitalise on the new colonization and Power Play mechanisms to allow PX/AX players to spread or constrain Thargoid influence. It would even tie in to the story of the hundreds of thousands of souls rescued by Operation Thunderstruck. It can even link with some of the funcationality that FDev have described as coming in the Vanguards update - small, community-driven goals.

As a Pacificst/PX player, I love this. I really wanted to engage more in the Thargoid content during the war, but I did not want to get into combat. I loved running rescues and evacs, but the ability to drive the story in this way from a PX perspective would absolutely tickle me pink.

<tinfoil>And wouldn't it be great if one of the new ships that came out this year was a player-pilotable Thargoid vessel?</tinfoil>

Looks like this system has been returned to a more "normal" state. Here's hoping it was an experiment, or a preview of something to come. Certainly it was a striking visual, and I know that among us Bug-Lovers (there's more of us than you think, we just keep it quiet because AXI and their buddies have a very loud megaphone), we're very excited at the possibilities of real PX, or pacifist ways to interact with the Human/Thargoid relationship.

I am a few days late, but A - Inara is still a third party site which requires players to update the information of things listed on it, and when systems were under Thargoid control the settlements in them usually showed as "Thargoid" aligned so it's very likely no one's visited them since, or at least not with a means to update their status (though I'm not sure why it would assign the Cocijo wreck an economy), and B - HIP 20827 around Indra was always bugged in that it showed a remaining human population when it was under control. Once it was freed during the push to destroy the Titan, its population when the recovery cycle started just went to zero. I guess that bug (pun not intended for once) returned in a different way when it concluded.

As much as I would like more Thargoid interactions beyond just poking them with sticks (or big Guardian guns), I don't think it serves to get excited about what is likely just a bug, and/or outdated information of infrequently visited Odyssey settlements or megaships/installations which I'm not sure there is a good way of getting them updated on Inara.

I agree with you that it's almost certainly a bug (as opposed to a Bug). But I do think it's worth stating (and reiterating) that there is an enthusiastic audience for non-combat interactions with the Thargoids, and even pro-Thargoid interactions. It's difficult for us to make ourselves heard by out actions in-game, as we currently have next to no pro-Thargoid actions available to us in game. So the forum feels like our next best option.

And sometimes our enthusiasm strays into tinfoil hat territory.
