Thargoids don't seem to want to use their EMP pulse very often

In the trailer, one of the hinted new features was some kind of EMP countermeasure device that stop our ship from being disabled by the Thargoid pulse.. except they are not using this attack type in battle, so what's the point of unlocking the device?

The 2.4 launch trailer kind of made this countermeasure seem like a prerequisite to being able to fight them. Are they going to start pulsing us like crazy when the device unlocks? Doesn't seem like a very plausible scenario..

I got that emp attack eveytime, it's that what disabels your ship, even if it dosen't last long.

Meaby their emp needs time to recharge, or useless if used more than once.

It may cost the Thargoids a ton of energy to use it, so they might use it sparingly.

Other then what and why they may and may not use it in game and breaking the 4th wall, I can't say :D

I think it's a once per encounter thing. They need time to recharge it.

So, if you enter and the tharg is already there, they used it to kill the nearby wrecked ships.

Sometimes, another tharg drops in, and they almost always use the pulse, which is why I feel like it's a long recharge on it for them or something.

Another explanation is a military one. you don't turn on your ECM until something is a direct threat as every time you use it, it gives your opponent chance to study it and develop a counter. Just like modern combat aircraft switch off certain parts of their radar until they need it.

Seen videos of it used multiple times throughout an encounter. Not sure if it's specific to hyperdictions or not, and if it's due to multiple Thargoids each using it once.
