Thargoids

While exploring the Merope system I went to a Non Human Signal (Threat 5) just to see what it was. Mistake, big mistake as I was nearly grabbed by the Thargoids (Ooo err missus!). Is this usual or was I just incredibly unlucky? If I hadn't had the reactions of a cat and a fast ship I would not be writing this I can tell you.

Try a lower threat level. I visited a NHSS (T4 perhaps) where there were just a couple of ships (I'm not knowledgable enough to distinguish ship types yet). They would move closer and farther away from me continuously, shooting continuously while close. They were quick. I didn't sense an alarming rate of damage to my ship, so I observed for a bit before leaving.

In terms of interaction, I took a few shots at them here and there, but they were just too maneuverable compared to my ship so I couldn't land a significant number. I knew that wasn't going anywhere and was just messing with them before leaving. I think that the conventional weapons I have on my ship wouldn't be very effective anyway.

Happy travels! :alien:

My home base is Agricola's Ascent, which is one jump away from Merope/Maia systems. I've been watching the Thargoids get closer & close for months, and now there are gobs of them all within a LY from the station.

I actually think I meant a light second. When you look at the signal in the FSS, the distance registers as zero.
