I had been quite interested in this game for some time, but because of the initial so-so reviews which generally seemed to indicate the game was lacking content, I had decided to wait a few months to purchase it. I bought it last week, and my initial impressions were "This is pretty darn cool!" I played pretty intensely for a week and watched these forums, and unfortunately came to realize just how much content was lacking in this game.
I have also since come to understand that Frontier released this game largely unfinished, which really irked me. Not only was three months of waiting after release not enough time for the devs to iron out kinks, but the game itself is not even actually feature complete? ? This is like even worse than early access games that string out customers forever, because although the development is functioning in the format of early access, Frontier has the nerve to actually call it a "finished product?"
Needless to say I'm peeved. I really wish I had been able to ascertain the full scenario before purchasing the game to get a sense of what's there and trawling these forums extensively, as generally speaking these days I only purchase games that are 100% complete. It was less-than-obvious to me at the time I purchased it that, in fact, this game still has a lot of development to go before it can even be considered a full experience. What's worse, there's no published roadmap or plan as to what is going to happen when.
For me, I'm just going to leave this game where it stands for six months and come back, hopefully at that point being able to play the full $60-worth of game I paid for.
I will strongly think twice before ever buying a game from Frontier ever again, as well.
