That's Gratitude.

There I was, being a good guy and doing my bit for the starving proles of Orerve. I was in Watson Station, which was very busy, waiting to leave and stacked up in a queue. I waited and waited and then waited some more. The only thing missing was a tinny rendition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons playing in the background. Up popped a message from station control, telling me that I'd waited too long and should leave immediately. I complied and took my ship out of the station, only to be slapped with a fine for reckless flying. If that's their way of showing gratitude for the 300+ tons of grain I'd brought them then I'd be happy to see every last one of 'em turn into Starvin' Marvins. I'm now tempted to buy as much grain as possible from the surrounding systems and just dump it in space. That'll teach them.

People, eh?
Incompetent traffic control, passing the buck etc.
In this respect the game seems very realistic.

(If that timers tick tocking, and I have to go, I make sure I smack some ships on the way out!).
