The premise is quite simple.
I want to see what you guys deem to be 10/10 additions to the game.
The criteria for a 10/10 animal is that its unique and distinct on a taxonomic, gameplay, visual and/or biome level, aswell as having a captive presence.
An example for ingame 10/10 animals would be the hippos and elephants, as they need very different and unique habitats (gameplay), look like nothing else (visuals), are not part of an overrepresented taxonomic group (for example canids felids like the cougar and dhole get hit slightly by this making them only 8-9/10 eventhough they excell at the other aspects, but their lack of taxonomic uniqueness makes them underwhelming for some people that just see brown cat and red dog. Is it fair? Not really, but i want unargueable 10/10 here) and fill uniqe roles in their regions and allow for diverse theming with the 2 kinds of elephants, both being unique in asia and africa respectivly.
I hope i explained it well enough, but here are 5 animals as examples!
First of, we got the racoon.
Its a small, arboreal omnivore from an not yet represented taxa in planet zoo.
We dont have anything compareable in the temperate biome or even the game as a whoule, so their inclusion would bring something truly unique while being a common zoo animal to boot.
It also would do wonders to both north american and european sections alike, as these animals can fit into a wide array if different kinds of habitat, be it a cage, an arboreal focused one, one with a creek as the center if attention, an urban themed one, etc.
Truly a great animal
The next candidate chares the association with europe without originating natutally ovdr here, the black swan.
This australian waterfowl lives in the aquatic biomes of down under land, a region otherwise only inhabitated ingame by the salti and the platypus as a nice base that could be greatly expanded on.
You could do a nice australian marsh area with them, use them as generic waterfowl or even for a fancy park.
Also its a beautiful bitd, something we have way to little of
Our third member of this club is an old world porcupine.
While i dont have a preference between african and indian, i do believe that they are not just more iconic, but also fill a more open niche as a small desert animal, a not new world rodent and as a more widespread "cheap" zoo animal.
The closest thing to them habitat wise would be the aardwark, so i propaply would prefer the indian, but all are good.
The most important part would be being a very visually unique, new rodent for the old world and a general lack of small animals.
Talking about iconic, not many animal can come close to a pelican.
These defenetly unique looking birds are quite special by their coastel tendencys and affinity for saltwater, making them perfect for any marine exhibits, something only very few viable animals can claim.
Again, every species is cool and honestly 2 or more would be preferred, as great white pelican + an american + an australian species would give the propable best cover.
Also again, bird bonus.
Lastly, i got the ultimate 10/10 wish addition, the gibbon.
Not only are they wonderfull peak animals, zoo stables and extremly fun to watch and listen to, they would also open the door to brachiachtion to the game, something of the highest impact additions any animal can boast about.
Whats more to love then a great animal thats so unique that it would include an amazing feature if frontier could pull it of.
And thats honestly amszing if you ask me
So, what are your suggestions for 10/10 animals? I would love to hear them and your reasoning!
