I have no idea of programming, so I am the wrong person to do this, but wouldn't it be neat if we had a tool similar to Thrudd's Trading Tool, but for outfitting choices and shipyards?
The data would have to be crowdsourced, and it would probably be a good idea to start with the player hubs. Federation core systems, LHS 3447 and vicinity, Empire Core systems, Lave-Cluster, Alioth-Alliance Core systems... and then add to that layer by layer... focusing on stations with a wide array of outfitting and shipyard choices, such as Walter's Port in the Condovichs system near Cemiess in the Empire Core, which has 13 ships and almost every module you need for them, or George Lucas starport in Leesti inside the Lave Cluster...
Very often we get questions from players asking where to find certain modules. What if you had a tool with a search engine that could help you find certain modules inside a 100 ly bubble around your position? The data would also not need to be updated as much as in Thrudd's Tool, because outfitting stocks don't change as often.
