there needs to be a way to send out a distress beacons. like if you are under attack or are about to be. if your ship breaks down and your are stuck but unwilling to self destruct. add to that if we could offer rewards credits/ships/modules. it would encourage more interaction and create another route to earn money or help another player out.

If you have some friends in the game, you can invite them to a wing and activate your wing beacon, allowing them to find you in your instance. Ever heard of the Fuel Rats? They use that mechanic to rescue ships that have run out of fuel.
If you're disabled by damage, use the repair/reboot function on the right side panel, and you should be able to get things working, for some definition of the word working.

I am not interested in interactions with other players, but it would be cool if we could call an NPC rescue ship that can repair and refuel us.
- You would send out an SOS.
- A rescue ship would arrive after a certain time.
- You can choose from a menu what you need from it.
Of course this would not be for free.
Perhaps you should only be able to do this in the bubble, or outside of the bubble the price would go up considerably.
