The absolute state of the commodities market interface.

Step 1: Be landed on ground city where they sell battle weapons.
Step 2: Choose Goldstein Port as your destination in the commodities market interface.
Step 3: Load up on Battle Weapons as the interface suggests you'll be making 4k profit per item if sold at Goldstein Port
Step 4: Land on Goldstein Port
Step 5: Can't sell what you bought as its apparently "illicit" cargo.
Step 6: There isn't a black market at that station.

Literally NOWHERE in the interface did it say the cargo is supposedly illegal at the destination station. Not in the market interface at the source station, Not when plotting route to the Coriolis, Not when jumping to system, not in the inventory interface on the right hand screen.

Where the flying did this 4k CR figure come from if its literally impossible to sell this cargo at the destination station.

The information of what is banned at a station in the system map view is literally gone. Odyssey's UI is completely broken.

That's bug from Horizons, pretty old one.
Ps4 here, so no Odyssey installed, but same issue present.
You need to find something else to trade with.

no, most of it is different in horizon (i have no way to check it in odyssey, as odyssey account is nowhere near a market)

  • commodity description lists which goverments outlaw a commodity (often missed, not the best place to put it, not really helpull, but it is there)
  • system map station description lists which commodities are illegal
  • jumping to system gives you an illicit cargo warning

in base game/horizon as well, the comparison calculates with a price for the commodity if legal, and does not take into account whether a black market is present.

I've had missions to deliver battle weapons to stations where they were illegal with no black market present. That might be where the price comes from.

no, as said price is calculated as of the commodity is legal.

simple test (done that): calculate sell price from profit shown in comparison. flip station to a goverment making commodity legal. check price again.

since a few patches even demand of black market and legal market is synced.

AFAIK this bug is as old as the market comparison tool itself. It doesn't care whether the commodity is legal or not, or even if that market even has a black market available.

This could be improved by:

1. Adding an icon like when you're carrying illegal goods, so you know the commodity is illegal there.
2. Not showing illegal comparisons if the location doesn't have a black market.

Yes, and its worse in Odyssey as every trace of what's legal or not has somehow managed to be not included in the new interface.

In the market information panel of the gal or system map for the selected station (second from the top right is you have a system selected) , underneath where it says "prices unavailable" it says "This commodity is illegal at this market"

In the features tab (system UI, right side third from top after selecting a station) it'll list if there's an active black market, or if there's a suspended one.

In the commodity description for battle weapons in the commodities UI itself:
"Prohibited in all markets except those governed by communists or dictatorships".

It should probably be highlighted much clearer, using the same purple used to tag illegal missions, but that took me all of a couple of minutes to find that out.

The bigger issue i have with the commodities market and comparion UI is, including fleet carriers (which you may not even be able to access) and odyssey settlements is the AMOUNT of flicking to find an actual station. Needs to allow filtering in the market tab.

EDIT: listed the wrong icon in a couple of places, corrections bolded. And yes, I think the description and features should be in one panel.

Second the response that it's an old behavior.

Items that are commonplace can be illegal as well, makes little sense. Has happened to me on occassion.
