It was an accident guv, I swear it!
I was at Ceos or Sothis, and took on a mission to deliver 63 tons of gold to a far-flung place. Then on second thoughts I decided it was a bad idea in a defenceless T6, so went back to Sothis Mines and abandoned the mission. I didn't realise that I still had the gold! I went back to the place I got it assuming they would take it back.... So here's me flying around getting interdicted left right and centre wondering what's going on. Then I make it to the next station and realise that I have a huge bounty on my head (and a Mars bar in my pocket) about 660,000 or something like that. But it expires in 6 days, so no problem: I can do some work for a week. I still was unaware of the 63 tons of gold stacked up behind me...
Then I try to plot a route back to the bubble since all missions from Sothis have been needed, and I find the rout plotting to almost anywhere fails. I check my cargo by going to the market and it shows no cargo. Ok, nothing. Cool, I can just set off. I'll reach somewhere eventually.
'Then when I launch I find I've got illicit cargo. 'Eh?'
So I check the other place and find I've still got the gold. Oh...
So how can I get rid of it? Fly to Robigo and sell it on the black market? Dump 63 tons of gold for some lucky guy to pick up? It didn't appear on the market, so maybe it can't be sold normally...
