The Bar Stupidity that Frontier Made

I am making my 1st post in 5 years of Elite play. And what do I want to post about. I want to post how stupid do you think it is to sell the capability of having a bar and a bartender that can trade materials on their 5 billion credit carrier and spend 250 million credits on the bar just to be able to sell 100 items in that bar. 100 ITEMS OF ALL THE COMPONETS IN THE ODYSSEY FOOT GAME. How dumb can Frontier be. Please try to explain that to me, for I do not comprehend how anyone would be thinking that would be a decent number.

Fdev hates their player base? Fdev don't play their own game (without cheats)? Player time metric goes up (which they need as they've probably lost a huge influx of players across the board)? They forgot a 0 when programming it? They don't have a clue?*

* Witness the focussed feedback on ship engineering thread because they apparently don't know how to lessen the grinding in the game (hint: don't make ground based engineering go back to the bad old days of limited allowances).

Whilst it is a daft limit, the op has had a small vascular accident I think.

And....

Everyone's an expert... of nothing but jibber-jabber.

I need a Mr. T meme, stat!

Like anyone will actually use this functionality... Accept as a personal bank to store more materials than the current 1000 foot mats limit

My opinion. of the bar is really that the module itself should much cheaper (upfront and upkeep), and really in a basic form just be an ambiance thing.. You should be able to buy drinks for a few cr and pretend to consume them, an NPC could come around and clear tables etc... But really the bar, in its most basic form, should primarily be a social space for cmdrs to meet/gather on foot..

As for the material trading aspect and other aspects of bartenders, maybe they should come with their own upkeep costs separately from the modules.

On a related but separate topic, really the best black market mechanism for FCs, stations would have been to have to find some dodgy NPC "fence" lurking behind cargo containers in a cargo bay somewhere...

The bar should've really been a free and stock part of the Fleet Carrier, and the ability to trade materials should've been rolled into the Pioneer Supplies shop instead.

But I'm no game designer so am probably just talking out of my Arx here.

My guess would be that they restricted the amount to see how it all runs, with an increase planned for future, which would make sense.
Time will tell, or not, who really cares?

Even King Hippotames would be against it, as the founder of the testament of discretion.

(Although I wonder if one missed the point?!)
I'd let his highness off in this case because I wouldn't expect him to be familiar with the forum rules. Never mind though.
