The best thing 2.1 brought to me

I can finally go and have some SRV fun on planets!!!

I have a very old PC (eight years old Quadcore 6700, 8Gb RAM, GTX 460 1GB), and when landing on planets it used to be so laggy that I've been skipping planetary activity except just landin at outposts for missions. Game would already lag when approaching planets in SC. It got better when I updated my drivers, but still it was laggy when landing (going down to 1FPS at times, hairy moments).

But now it's all very smooth, and I've equipped both my Python and ASP with vehicle bays and I've had tons of fun racing on planets surfaces and shooting rocks, as a geologist I love going around looking for chondrites and rocky outcrops :)

Canyon racing is great too, tried some on Farseer's home planet last night (gorgeous site she lives in).

I'm very happy as I knew I was missing a lot not being able to enjoy the planetary side of Horizons.

Yep, love the new graphics (especially stations and surfaces)

My old laptop can now run over 20 FPS on planets, which means I can finally play on my travels.

Totally agree, the FDev magicians have taken my 24-30 fps and made it a pretty solid synch locked 60.

I now love landing on planets, despite having no excuses for 'heavy landings'.

An amazing job!

I was going to buy a GTX 1080 but these optimizations mean my SLI setup can go another hardware cycle without an upgrade.

Remarkable work, got a smooth 60 FPS finally on planets and even bumped up the textures etc.. a couple of levels.
