PvP The Big Ship Stigma.

I use a python to spank on mediums all the time— in fact, it’s my main medium PvP ship these days.

800mj, a couple banks, and about 3400 hull.

Now imagine my Anaconda against a medium ship. 5x as much shielding, and double the armor. Add an extra (huge) plasma, and a pair of railguns to that mix.

Its just kinda OP against 99% of mediums in a 1v1, man.

Secondly..what youre saying is the sort of thing i hear time and time again and it all feeds into the OP.

The whole arguemnt of "youre in a more powerfull ship" is so lame and so easy to make its laughable,
There are literally, LITERLALY hundreds of videos of large ships getting mauled by smaller ones. The consensus? "Oh bravo little pilot and SHAME on you big pilot.!"
But if anyone shows a video of the reverse..its "OH SHAME on you anyway..and that guy in the smaller ship must have been a bad pilot regardless.!"

Its laughable.

As the OP states..big ship pilots cant win.

I guess since Rinzler and Hazzmango gank people too they must be terrible at pvp and aren't allowed to have opinions on skill.

The only point you've proved here is that you're a mediocre pilot that wants to make excuses when you lose. If you're in Vette the only people who should stand a chance against you are other Vettes and Cutters or maybe condas.

Go challenge mango or Rinzler to a 1v1 against one of their mediums. Since they're gankers it should be an easy kill according to you.

Yeah. Almost no one can beat me except for other too tier pilots. Unfortunately I'm not on PC otherwise I would come make fool of you on livestream but go challenge Rinzler to a 1v1 in medium and see how good you really are.

Thats a Krait.

IE: Worst acceration curves in class, some of the worst lateral performance in class. 5/6x less defensive capailities than you, and is a large target for medium.

Not taking the micheal here, but this is not skill. Killing Eagles before they run out of ammo, WITHOUT an SLF and fixed weapons, you can make that claim.

For reference, I know players on Ps4 who can do the above. Not to mention fairly quickly.

Let me get this straight:

A Ganker..whos saying theres no skill in piloting a certain ship..who claims is a Top Tier Pilot and who would "make fool of you on livestream" but...cant...

Yeah..lets just..go back on topic.

So..big ships..i think they require skill.
No one has ever made a solid point to show they dont.

Is this not a discussion regarding the big ship stigma? My response is perfectly in line with the thread, and I’m offering my experience-based viewpoint.

Defeating a medium ship with a PvP-spec large simply isn’t a feat, man. Maybe if you’re in a T10 lol.

Anyways, If you like flying your Corvette, then fly it. No sense in seeking validation from other people.

The stigma comes I think primarily from the outpourings of rage and keyboard button smashing of the people you describe in (3), and much like the paper-thin build users, any attempts to put them even gently onto the right path will always end in vitriolic responses not only from the OP (e.g. How dare you tell me to put proper shields on my ship and git gud!) and the usual non-open playing suspects diving in to extract their pound of flesh with some ill-concieved coffee shop psychology.

Ive been flying a Vette for a long time . And i have noticed some very interesting things.

1) Medium and small ship pilots love engaging big ship piots. Why? Simple:

If they loose " er meh gerd you only won because youre in a bigger ship im still good"

If they win.."er meh gerd you lost and youre in a BIGGER ship im soooo good!"

In short..either way they cant loose (excpet when they actually loose.)

2)The misconeptin that it takes less skill to fly a Big Ship.

This one both humours and annoys me at the sme time.
Like saying theres less skill in say..driving a Tank than a ford fiesta. Tell you what..you get a big ship, stick on 3 fixed PAs and turn FA off and YOU try hitting a fly in a black space.
Tell me how that goes.

3) The "I have a Big ship so i must be good" arguement.

I see a lot of low ranking Pilots,as low as expert and even Novice flying Cutters, Condas and Vettes.

These are, honestly, some of the worst Pilots i have ever encountered. And obviously they would be. They simply skipped the "getting good" part of the game in order to get the biggest ship.

There are some pilots in Shinrarta (not me) that attack and kill on site novice ownwers of HIgh tier ships like this and you know what?

Im ok with that.

Some wish to punish those who use exploits to get into big'ins with zero game skills.
