Community Event / Creation The bonds between pilots and their ships

While in Beta, I only wanted to get the biggest ship in the shortest time possible. But come Gamma, when I first started out with just a handful of credits and my sidewinder, I started to experience an emotion that I haven't had in a very long time in any game: I grew attached to it.
So while I was making my way towards Sol (Didn't we all?) I realized that selling it won't happen, even when I move on.
Working my way up the upgrade-path with exploration at first (Still I cannot describe the feeling you get when you are literally the first human to visit a star system...) and now some light to medium bounty hunting, I turned my Sidewinder into my trusty companion. I dare to say that it turned me into a better pilot as well.
And when it was finally time to tuck it in the berth of Dalton Gateway, I did so with the promise that it would accompany me wherever I go down the road.

I am very familiar with these sentiments. I miss my old loaded out Viper from the Beta trials. Now I have a Cobra Mk 3 which I have named the same name as the Cobra Mk3 from when I played Elite in 1986.
It's a slippery slope. In Real life has left me with way too many cars in my barn, some of them are old decrepit wrecks. An old 1993 W124 Mercedes that's very blemished and beaten up but very durable etc.

I am about done with my Eagle, but currently I am more interessted in a nice new system and how I get my both ships there then moving on. For bounty-hunting the Eagle is good enough, however I am thinking about doing a bit of freelancing/pirating, for which a Cobra sounds nice.
But that still has time.

I for one would like to have my own hangar some where. A place where I can store all my ships and junk :D a place where I can walk around and look at the ships in one place called......HOME.

I'd love to have that as well, but can't really see how they would fit that lore-wise. While the stations are massive, they are too small for storing large amount of ships. Only could imagine that they actually store the ships on the planets surface somewhere and then bring them up when you select them.

Did another vid on my experiences while shuttling around the LHS 3447 system.

Still haven't figured out a way to shuttle my ships to a system far enough away from LHS 3447...
Probably need to fly out my Eagle, then buy "just a Sidewinder" for the return-trip, get my beloved Sidewinder (really should name it, I know) and sell of the bought one again.
Anyone done this kind of shuffling before?

Is it just a 3D model if you have fond memories with it?

I sold my Eagle, mainly because I didn't connect to it the same way I did with my SW. I wonder if I ever get the same attachment to another ship in ED or if it was just because of the things I experienced with it.
