I'll give it a day for any last minute corrections before I update the championship leaderboards.
Wow! Is this a crash course or a master class? Thanks for sharing! Genius idea of using the holes in your hull to vent the smoke from an overheating FSD. The VR looks amazing, albeit a little terrifying during the fuel scoop. Thanks again for hosting the race @Brother Sabathius , and I love seeing busy leader boards
If folks want to see my runs, (and with an SRV link a la Shaye)

But here's the really dumb thing - earlier in the week I did a practice round on my 980 laptop just to get the lay of the land, shields off etc. etc. to make sure I could find the right landing spot and all that - but because it's a bit of a struggle on a laptop didn't bother to record it - knowing it would all be better at the weekend on a proper PC - then completely forgot about the shields. It's my fault and I'm an idiot. Next time I will print out instructions in font size 50 and paste them to the wall! Fly dangerous - o7Do not worry it happens.
You gained an honorary mention anyway with a really good time.
Ha, I was quite pleased with myself when I realised I could 'finesse' the hull % like that, and yeah I'm very lucky to have VR, I love it.Genius idea of using the holes in your hull to vent the smoke from an overheating FSD. The VR looks amazing, albeit a little terrifying during the fuel scoop.
In my first Buckyball race, run by Ozric I think, I made 3 attempts and in all of them I missed something from the rules. Thank you for posting the video. It's always encouraging to come up with the same strategy as someone better. It means that the idea is sound and it's just working on eliminating the long series of small mistakes. What a fantastic race! Even if I was somewhat absent for most of it I really enjoyed being able to revisit one of my favourite Buckyball runs of old and am very grateful to @Brother Sabathius for hosting this and also for giving me the opportunity to recreate Tannick Seldon's legendary journey. Loving all the enthusiasm from the folks relatively new to all this and loving all the blooper reels too!
And on the subject of videos - here's my 23:32 0% Cobra run, edited, sped up (in parts) and with added music to pump up the adrenalin and make it play kinda how it felt at the time.

Absolutely. Who knows if or when FD will do a code merge that means Horizons planets are gone forever but I've loved the opportunity to revisit the terrain around Cooper which was just sooooo perfect for this race (other opinions are available). While people are still in the area, you should go check out the terrain down on Kumay a bit more (that's the Bridger Town planet). In my opinion that planet has some of the best looking terrain in the entire game.
You drive over 2500km but do they say "you should rename your SRV to Worldbeater"?
No they do not.
You dump a few empty bottles ....
Oh, and speaking of that drive, for completionists who feel robbed of the ending, here's the final 62km (it turns out the first 62km WAS the hardest!).
