The Buckyball Racing Club presents: Yes And 3311 (a season of improvised racing)

After three years of Buckyball Racing Club championships, each with one race per month for eight straight months, I've taken the tough decision to take our foot off the gas just ever so slightly this year and run something a bit more casual.

To that end I'm proud to announce the "Yes And 3311" season of improvised races. The intention is still to have a variety of hosts each run week long time trial races at intervals throughout the year (and a bunch of volunteers have already stepped up to the mark), but we're going to drop the idea of a pre-defined set of fixtures for the year (with all the pressure and commitment which comes with that) and instead just declare our intention to run some races in 3311 and allow things to happen in a more relaxed fashion.

We'll use this forum thread (and the Discord server of course) to try and announce races several weeks in advance and I already have the first race (which will be called "Time And Motion Study") more or less prepped and ready to run. I plan to launch this sometime around the end of March.

So basically ... WATCH THIS SPACE!

With so much going on in game let alone out of it, it's a good move I think to cruise around this year. I'm looking forwards to some crazy races as and when they pop up.

It almost bring us back to the race's origins and influences, having to keep your ear to the ground for not so legal races.

With the war over I'm happy to see these races are still going on. Colonization is interesting... it adds a new set of objectives, motivates me to check out systems I'm passing through in detail, and hauling can be a relaxing... but it pretty easily becomes TOO. MUCH. HAULING. 😵

So... racing. Yeah. That could be great. Going to try to keep a better eye on this forum.

"Time And Motion Study" is now over. You can read the final results of the race here but otherwise it's now up to other folks in the Buckyball Racing Club to come up with future 3311 races as and when the time and opportunity presents itself.

AWOOGA! There's only another flippin' race happening!
