The changes to delivery missions seriously sucks

Just travelled 20Kls to the destination station to find that I hadn't taken any cargo.

Just give me the damn cargo when I take the mission already.

This could mean that you can now take the mission if you aren't in a ship with sufficient cargo cap?

If so swings and roundabouts. I agree that not being notified sucks though! Lol, did you not wonder how you plotted so few jumps... rofl, really you gotta laugh ;)

While I can see the advantages I personally find it annoying as someone who does several delivery missions at a time, because it has added several more steps each delivery mission and now I have to keep a mental count of each load so I don't go over limit

For the benefit of the numpties among us (raises hand), how do you now pick up the cargo you're supposed to be delivering? And does this new mechanic only work for missions where the overall cargo exceeds your ship's capacity, or is it a general thing now?

This is ahuge thing man, it's made the game much better. Yes, you should have been informed, sorry about that, but trust me this is great. I can take one way missions as I go about my business in the bubble and fulfill them with my other ships later at my leisure, not to mention I can take the mission and not fill my hold immediately, leaving me free to fdo other things with other ships while having that missoin.

I really think this is a HUGE QoL improvement.

Yes I agree it, luckily while I was waiting for the update last night I came on here and read about it, otherwise I would have probably been on here bemoaning it. :)

IMHO it's one of the best changes in the update. I made your mistake at first too, but soon realised how it works now and how much better it is gameplay wise.

C/P from the PS4 forum:

Solo delivery missions now work like wing delivery missions. The haulage isn't automatically added to your current ship's hold, you need to transfer it manually from the "cargo depot" (via the mission board from the mission giver's entry). The advantage is that you can now accept these contracts while you're in any of your ships and switch to your cargo vessel later, and you can split the cargo into multiple deliveries. Also remember to check now if the target station is an outpost, as the mission will no longer be locked out due to "ship too large".

I just read on another post that there is no filter for outposts now either, not sure if that is correct or not.

So do you have to buy the cargo or is it in the cargo Depot?

That depends on the mission.

Missions where you deliver items from A to B you will have the cargo in the cargo depot at the origin station, load up your ship from there, transport to destination and offload to cargo depot at destination. Aka "fly my stuff from A to B".

For the "Source X commodity" you have to fly out there and find the correct goods and return them to cargo depot at the origin station. Aka "go find the stuff I need and bring it back here"

Thanks for that. If the 'ship too large' filter is no longer a thing then that's...not great, I'd say.

I see it more as additional grind imo....
It's no different, they just omitted to tell anyone they were changing it. The good are still there on Boom Time Deliveries etc. You just click on the mission and load your ship.

It seems there is no filter to tell you you're going to an outpost.

Yes, but how could it work otherwise? Since you can now switch ships before loading up, there's no way for the game to tell at the time you accept the contract.

Edit: Maybe a warning when you try to load your large ship at the depot but the target is an outpost could be implemented (or is there one? I didn't see anything there yesterday and could load up anyway).

I have to say that I like the new system much better than the old, but if I hadn't been warned about it on the forum I probably would have left without cargo too. There does need to be some sort of warning about loading up your cargo.
