The Cobra MK III - She's been a favorite for so many years...

I ran across an NPC who after interdicting me, decided to not attack.
Machines that at any moment could have dealt hellfire on one another, yet didn't.
Two Cobras studying one another, watching, observing...
Neither had the need nor the motivation to pull out our fangs... we just literally danced.

Here's a snippet of what went on for nearly an hour...

I recently decided to wipe my game for a new start. I had a great upgraded ASP from Gamma trading etc. but felt it was a little unfair and wanted a new start from go live (this isn't a dig at anyone so please don't go on about it).

So after my wipe I started trading up, doing mission and have been getting a few credits from pirates (oowwerrr).

Though all my trading's and upgrades I didn't really use the Cobra and was just an extended trading vessel.

This time I have spent a fair bit of cash and time upgrading and fly about.

Got to say I'm really loving the Cobra. She is a thing of beauty.

Got some souped up shields and now gambled weapons, upgraded power and a decent jump rang.

She is handling really well. I'm now falling in love with her. . .

Just wanted to share. :D

I love how this forum is full of "I cannot express my joy for this ship enough"-threads instead of "My ship's worse than all others"-threads.

I hear you.

My Cobra and I, well I think it will be a while before we're parted.
I will put her in storage if I decide to try any other ships, won't be selling her.

Yep I love mine. She's sleek, tough, loving and will chew you up and spit you out if you mess with her. I Haven't got any interest in any other ships right now. I'll just keep upgrading her slowly and enjoy the journey.

Great choice of song OP. I can't believe I just watched that whole video (smiling a goofy smile). It's like spaceship p*rn.

Makes me REALLY want a 3rd person drone video mode, just so we can all pose our ships and take pictures. Get onto it FDevs!

Parked up my type-7 and kitted out a Cobra for imperial navy progression. Have to say I love the ship, reminds me of the mMillennium Falcon

Which makes me wonder if we'll get to see a day with multicrew ships that would give us access to manning turrets.. :)

It really is. I was so happy when I saved up enough credits to buy one and put a fresh paint job on it. And it's so versatile too - I can do a bit of everything without feeling too constrained.

yea I love mine With it's flame Red paint job and skull on the front, just wish I could see it entering station from out side view, this would give a sense of scale against the space station size.

That video gave me a shiver down my spine, thansk for sharing.

I had a Cobra before the wipe but right now I'm in a Viper. I've had more than enough money to get a Cobra for a while but been putting it off. This has settled it, I'm getting it back today.

Had one in the BETA. Haven't got one in the full release yet. She is a nice ship, with some gorgeous lines...
I like to think of the Cobra as a long-legged, grand tourer kind of vehicle.

After I got all grade A hardware for my Viper I decided that my next step would be a Cobra!

I parked my Viper and went for a it! Bought a stock Cobra, put some mining gear into it and went hunting for Metallic reserves in Empire space. Didn't take me very long to find one and started mining!

It didn't take long before I acquired an unhealthy interest of some foul pirates who started pew pewing me and suddenly the laser spewing, death dealing god of war I was in my Viper seemed to have shriveled into an elder with a pointy stick flying that stock Cobra! :(

I have since sold my Cobra, went back to my Viper and am now in the process of bounty hunting my fortune so that I can at least upgrade a new Cobra towards a level where I don't feel like I'm flying around in a brick.

Yes, that's partly why I've been holding off until I can afford to get into a tooled up Cobra. It would feel like step backwards from a well equipped Viper.

Yes, to fully enjoy the Cobra you need to outfit it and burn several millions. But the joy of having done so!
She's the epiphany of the multipurpose ship.
