Dear Frontier Development,
With the regular recurrence of threads requesting availability of the Cobra Mk IV beyond its current exclusivity, I have a proposal to make.
In my garage is one or maybe two such Cobra Mk IVs, made for scavenging and/or bounty hunting back in the day before the added utility slots. At the moment I am 35,000 light years away from being able to use either of them, and the likelihood of them being put to use when I return is small, as I am more likely to test other ships I have not spent much time in, such as the Krait Phantom, the Mamba or the Crusader. I may even try out one of the Diamondbacks, which I must admit I have never actual flown in at all.
Why not make these idle ships available to others? I propose enabling the Cobra Mk IVs in my garage to be leased out to others temporarily. I would allow either of them to be leased on a day-to-day basis for the low cost of 250,000 credits/day or 1,500,000 credits/week. The lessee will of course be fully responsible for any fines, bounties or damages incurred, for fuel, expendables and general maintenance. They will be responsible for the complete replacement of the ship as well, in case it is destroyed while in their custody. The ships can be customised however the lessee sees fit, as long as they pay for it and return the ship in the condition they first received it in.
Surely this proposal will be seen as a way for everybody to be able to enjoy the Cobra Mk IV without stepping on the toes of the current owners.
