Some people budded off into SDC, a Code with the gloves off because of their frustrations with the non development of... I would say piracy but really anything that wasn't watching Thargoids dry.

The Code bubbled under and is now enjoying a new lease of life as those guys you can trust to actually rob you and leave you alive to tell about it.

I know of what I speak.

Isn't this a repeat from not too long ago when the Code was also back, but it turned out they never actually left, but just kept a prow lowpile?

Which makes sense for pirates.
