The Code Disassociates itself from The East India Company

Several weeks ago, we were invited by the East India Compamy (EIC) to go to the BD+03 2338 system to do some pirating. The Code was given a guarantee that there would be no conflicts with EIC members. Despite these guarantees, our members were often interdicted by EIC members who appeared not to have received instructions from their leadership and were hostile in thought and deed.

We witnessed indiscriminate killings of anyone who came in the system, trader, pirate, bounty hunter, or independent by the EIC which is against the ethos of The Code. After a few days it became obvious that traders had boycotted the area due to these acts of murder, which reduced our ability to proactively interact with trading pilots.

We operate in many areas, especially in the Rare Trading Hub around Lave. As many pleased pilots will attest, when we interdict pilots we ask them for a percentage of their cargo. We don't kill them unless they decide not to comply. We then take a cut and let them trade unhindered for an agreed period of time. Traders are happy, we are happy. In return, we try to keep independent pirates who may not have the same ethics as ourselves out of the area. We will most certainly keep EIC and other murdering factions out of the systems where we operate. We have a large number of skilled pirates who are determined to keep the areas in which we operate "grief" free.

In short, we wish to disassociate ourselves with EIC and give them the ultimatum to stop their senseless slaughter of the innocents and leave the Lave area post haste.

In shorter, stop fishing with dynamite and begone.

In shortest. We abjure EIC.

I like it. I vote you change your name to Pirata Codex. Seems to fit better with your stance and role, and it disassociates yourself.

Good stuff!

It affects a tiny proportion of pilots who might encounter a tiny number of other commanders in a tiny time frame in an infinitesimal number of systems. You guys really have an over inflated sense if importance..

I'd rather see it here in General, than miss it is the RP forum I forget to keep up to date with

Schoolboy baloney.

you should not be so quick to dismiss how others extract their enjoyment from the game. Fun is what matters and I think this game gets better with the more of this sort of thing I see.

I say more power to you!

So the Lavian People's front now attacks the People's Front of Lave.

And which one was the French one?

Lave is confusing.
We are the popular peoples front of Lave, we hate the peoples front of Lave even more than the Lavian people front.

I first disliked the initiative of the EIC and the imperial militias in BD+03 2338 because they allied themselves with a bunch of dishonorable pirates.
I then loathed it when I heard that they were killing every one who was not their own, blowing up defenseless traders as soon as they came out of the station, without the smallest warning.

But now, I realize I was wrong. Not about the EIC and their so-called "Imperial" allies. But about the pirates, about The Code. I thought you were the less respectable of the blockaders, when you were the most honorable of them all. Even though you are pirates and prey on the weak, even though you are criminals you follow a strict credo and do not resort to senseless murder. This is something I can respect.

This said, don't get me wrong : I am a bounty hunter and I may well come after some of you should we come across each other. But I will try to kill you for your bounty, not because I find your actions abhorrent. But if I we meet while I'm trading to pimp my latest ride, I may not even try to run and simply go for a peaceful negotiation, because I'd like more criminals to be like you than like the murderers of the EIC.

EDIT : @TheBosun : Nice pseudo. But remember not to play too much with military AIs, they have a tendency to betray you after you force them to call you "my love" :D
