Engineers The commoditys for crafting are a pain

I love moste of the update. The missions are more fun and meaningfull and play nicely into the new faction mechanic. They could use some reward tweek and more variaty but so far so good. Combat is more fun and meaningful, and i have been waiting for the modified wepons from gamma to come back... well... since gamma lol

Now after having a good hard play i have come to some problematic game play.

The commodity rewards from missions are seemingly random so you have to just keep spinning the wheel and hoping you get offered what you need for the blueprint you want.

Now i know if i just keep doing missions i will eventually find what i need. 4 of what i need so i need 4 cargo in my ship to do the mission.. fine so thats 4 trys at getting an ideal result. This is livable exept that once i have done it im back to looking for more thrugh random mission rewards.

I can amass as much materials as i like. All the firmware and focus crystals i can cram in my pokets, i can change ships and they can be any size and configuration and its all fine. I can just play the game and things will build up.

But not with commoditys, they stop you from flying sertain ships, they stop you from finnishing missions if you dont have the cargo hold for the reward. They also get you hunted buy pirates and having to haul aload of cargo around just incase you need it later or be forced to find it again when you do, knowing full well you alredy had it but had to throw it away.

And They limmit the amount of trys you have in one go at the engineer( im asuming this was the intention?)

I just feels like too much. They just get in the way and render the materials taking up no room thing poitless as the cargo has the same use just it takes up room and you need them both just the same.

I have done may missions for many factions and you tend to get much the same rewards. I haven't come accross loads of commoditys i need. but i have the materials alredy in lots of cases.

It going to take weeks to get a good asortment of materials for crafting i dont want to lug the cargo around for weeks with me as i do so.

Please can we be making the cargo wightless or get rid of it all together as its more trouble than its worth.

Add a new menue in the ui under scan data for it and give us a limmit of 4 per commodity if you like. Just dont make me lug this stuff about and juggle it between my ships.

On a side note...

Totaly not happy about the bi weave shields fiasco! At least tell us whats going on!

Its like gamma all over again!!

I feel the same way. There were three missions, each paying around 3.5mio and I needed 100 free cargo for my asp, which had 100 cargo and I don't want to fly without shields or autorepair. So I dumped all.
 
many of the commodities can be bought. if tooltip says "produced by extraction/refinery close to leesti" - you can search for it, and buy them, when you have gathered everything else. because, as you hace said, flying around with cargo being attacked for it by pirates is a pain.

all blueprints i have seen need only 1 piece of real cargo.


by any chance do you know where I can get irregular emission updates, I need it for a level 1 engine upgrade?

hoover over clueprint, it gives a tooltip.
 
That kind of renders the mission rewards pointless though doesnt it. Pluss there are some money cant buy.

Does any one know what the logic was behind the use of cargo in crafting?
