The controversial "Talk" about ED - CMDR Malagus version

Ugh its this guy... This guy who mainly supports Multiplayer and ugh guilds and all sorts of pesky things...

First i would kindly ask you to read through all of this, and I would love to see your arguments to my points below. Also keep in mind even though i support multiplayer and I generally think Solo is a drawback from the game's future, I still understand you all guys and that is just my humble opinion. On to the ramble shall we ?

PowerPlay is around the corner and we plebs that have no access hang around here on the forums, waiting and biting our nails. But I saw a slight concern towards the coming major update. People say that 10% is too much, the decay should go away, im sure you are all familiar with all of these. With that in mind, here i go:

1. I believe the 10% should stay, as too many people have too much money and it just becomes like a walk in the park for them. Also if you think of the scale of our ships, the Vulture for example is probably around 20-25 meters long. Immagine you had such a big car, ofcourse the modifications cost a lot for it am i right?

2. Rep Decay is kind of okay for me. But i understand that most of backers and people here unlike me, actually have a familly and life (im just a student ok? :( ) therefore it is harder for them to keep up with the decay. With that said, i believe it should go away, or maybe be exponential. If you are very high on the ladder, you fall quicker, because the fight for the top is more intense and others "beat you at it". If you are lower, and you just play for some fun, it should go away way slower, so you can maintain your allegience with the factions.

-------------from here on the PP stuff stops--------------

3.Ok the development of the game? Where is it going ? I really dont understand. Many here want more to exploring, trading and generally Solo activities, you old hags ;). But for some reason FD seem to only work on the Multiplayer part, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 are all Community and Multiplayer driven. DB said Planetary landings, multicrew ships, walking around stations. So far they announced none, and if they dont do it at E3 i suggest you stop hoping too much this year, unless a miracle happens at Gamescom. Where is the game going ??

4.Am i the only one who has a feeling we are playing a simulation, not an online video game world? Its like out CMRD is in a simulation, preparing to be an actual pilot. We have many many things totally sterile. The game says a system has 9 Billion people in it. Fine! And only about 100 ships ? The stations dont feel like a sanctuary for civilized commanders and all. They feel more like one of those villages out in the mountains, you feel like somebody is actually there, but you dont see anybody.. Missions are very straight. How many times did Skyrim present us with a mission that suddenly changed course, because whatever attacked the village and now the mission is different? Or how many times were you walking around the world and heard the same 4 quotes from NPC's? I understand its a game. But a pirate asking me to drop stuff and then shooting me 1 second later is not very interesting...

5. There is no real sense of the Galactic wars and everything thats happening. You go to a system at war. You read the news. Yay its a war!! Uhm? Why is everything the same as in every station i have been to? Where is the poverty. Maybe some landing pads should be closed, maybe there should be some destroyed ship in repairs, maybe even the station should be damaged and the Cops could maybe warn me this is a war zone and i have to be carefull.

On the same note, why are the enemy ranks in a CZ never ending, then suddenly 1 week later, they stop. What, did killing one more dude make a difference. Im pretty sure it didn't. Why are the CZ in the same spots ? It should be more dynamic. It could be that if one side wins a lot in one place, they have to push closer to the station, and the CZ moves closer, eventually the fight would be near the station. And also it should get harder and harder for the pushing sides, maybe another small Cz should happen behind the main line, kind of like an ambush and the pushing side gets less ships, therefore the commanders matter more. I should feel in danger in a war zone, i should feel the poverty and rust at a station, i should see fires on the outside and maybe even stations entirely closed due to the damage. Sadly its the same same same everywhere.

6. THE WALL OF TEXT CONTINUES BOYZ!! Exploration is far too underpaid for the danger it offers. Simple as that. Im 10k Ly away from Sol and im almost dying my ship is damaged im barely having any food left and when i get home, i sell some papers and have enough to repair my ship and get some food basically. WHAT? I JUST RISKED MY GOD DAMN LIFE FOR THE PLEBS TO ACTUALLY KNOW WHATS OUT THERE, AND ALL I GET IS SOME CREDITS, A BOUNTY HUNTER DOES IN 1 DAY..Not cool bro not cool. Im not saying the exploration should be for money, but i bet IRL thats how it would be, explorers would get paid a lot. What if i find some planet made out entirely out of gold and some company decides to seize that? I should be paid a lot for my discovery...

The list could go on but I fear it only makes things worse and worse. The game is very very good, but in the state it is, and if SC REALLY IS they way they say it will be, than ED has no chance in my eyes. I wish tho, cuz space is so damn butifull here ;( and this game has so so so much potential. So many relatively small changes could make such a big difference. I feel FD are a little blind to what we are saying here on the forums, or simply they dont care and just make a game for themselves. That is very cool, but I won't be sticking around much longer after SC is out if the game is still so sterile. Who knows maybe SC is indeed a failure and ill be back to rant here ;)
