The Core of the Galaxy

I just got back from the other side of the galaxy. yes it's possible and it's an achievement for xbox players, and worth about 600k in credits.

Is it actually possible to get there??? Wouldn't it take years of gameplay???

takes about 14 months, so be warned, you will need a stasis pod too, cant remember what station sells them, thats to prevent the space dementia that kicks in when your all alone out there. gl CMDR.

It took me about six weeks plaing a few hours by day using an ASP Explorer.
There are some posts with recomended outfiting to get there. I did return from Sag A by a detour to Great Annihilator.

Good luck Commander!

If you do go, Don't go through the middle. Go above or below the galactic plane. It is a much more scenic experience but is strangely more lonely as well.

Bongo ... The itch is returning ... But if I do do it, I might do a Bilbo and go for a very long holiday

If I wasn't waiting for Horizons I'd be gone already.

Oh well dang now I have to go. Anyone willing to list the minimum ship requirements and other things needed to get there?

I currently own an Adder and a Viper MKIII. My adder definitely seems like the better option but I will buy a new ship if necessary
I tried and failed in an Adder, the cockpit is just too restricted. Very frustrating. The Hauler would be better.

Depending on your bank balance you'll probably be looking at a Cobra. Sounds like an Asp X might be a bit out of your range.
CMDRs, we need Explorer builds for a Cobra III here...

I've been to the center (You can do this about 15 hours) and I've been to the other side of the galaxy and back. Took me a few months round trip.
