The Corsair makes a great pirate ship as well as a good all-rounder...

We have a very similar build, still using APAs instead of Pacifiers... also, as a suggestion better to invert the limpet controllers with this:

Just be aware that the "advertized" range for ops limpet controllers is for hatchbreaker, not collector or recon limpets. For collector limpets, 3C ops controller has the range of ~1 km and 3B ~1.5 km. So I would definitely recommend 3B ops controller instead of 3C—the extra mass doesn't matter on Corsair.

Isn’t the hack time much higher? Or does that not make a difference with the hatch breaker?

I haven't really used the ops controller for cargo liberation—mostly for collecting engineering stuff/salvage and hacking holoscreens for Powerplay (and yes, hacking time for recon limpets is quite high). But a 5A hatchbreaker+3B ops controller would be very good. Fast hacking, 5...10 cargo drops and 4 collector limpets to scoop it up🙂

The stern hardpoint blocking the cargo bay could be a bit annoying for pirates. Is that only a problem for scooping or are limpets dying to it as well?

Yup... I mean, for pirating breach time and hatch breaker distance have priority, the collectors is more for the number of deployable limpets. These are all more or less having 1+ km (I thing big ones like 7+ go beyond 2km). Number of breaker limpets doesn't really matter > 3 as even against ships equipped with point of defence these are enough.

I’m learning that. It’s so much easier now I’ve switched my C5 Collectors for Hatch Breakers. 🙂
