CQC The CQC Gamemode Discussion Thread.

I know it's fairly new, but I m a huge fan of dog fights and cqc is great alternative way to play pvp. It would be awesome if they were able to add large scale battles such as capital ship battle mode. Where two or more capital ship from different factions battle it out. With each factions having team of 4 or more people. The players will be randomly selected on each team at the start. Playing as the fighters trying to defending their capital ship from the other team and at the same time trying to destroy other teams capital ships or maybe even capturing other team capital ship. Like most pvp games the winning team will have to either destroy other team capital ship or do the most damage, before the timer ends. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed.

Was actually expecting this to be in CQC by default... They will keep expanding things so we'll likely see it in the future.
 
As in, a map to play on? Like that old Halo 1 multiplayer map which was just 2 ships side by side?


Edit: The map is called 'Boarding Action' and an Elite variant can have each side of the map as a Capital Class ship, especially for Capture the Flag maps, which can be released when the Imperial CQC ship is released.

The ships will be large enough given the scale of the Condor compared to the Farragut

I don't think AI would great in cqc. Because we will hear the same complaints as in Elite Dangerous. They are too hard and such.
 
Back in the beta, I suggested a mode along the lines of basewars on Tachyon: The Fringe, wherein you'd have resource collection ships with fighters and bombers. Each team would have a base that would be upgraded with resources collected by the miners. The bombers would attack bases, while the fighters would attack the miners and bombers. Upgrading the bases would have some kind of benefit such as deployment of a missile that could destroy the other base, thus winning the game, or upgraded defenses against the bombers.

The game would be won with the destruction of the enemy base.

Planetary environments would also make a nice arena.
