Please, please tell me that the cure for the Cerberus Plaguebeing Ceremonial Heike Tea is not meant to be an endorsement of green tea as a cure for whatever ails you? I ask this because the description for Ceremonial Heike Tea is that it is "Super fine green tea. Powdered for use in tea ceremonies, this tea is often used to seal treaties and business deals. It is traditionally ground on granite mills by specially selected millers, chosen for their moral purity." and that it seems like many people are promoting a lot of anecdotal (non-empirical) evidence that green tea is a miracle substance that is great for curing a lot of things.
Did anyone else pick up on the fact that they are saying green tea is the cure for the Cerberus Plague? I mean in all the rare commodities in the game could FD not have chosen one of the better options like vega slimweed which grants immunity to several biological poisons according to its description of "Initially thought to be a plant, settlers of the system would swallow it whole for its slimming and appetite reducing qualities. The revelation that the plant is actually a parasitic life form has not reduced its popularity. Those infested have reported a difficulty in removing the parasite once it has established, but the benefits include an immunity to certain biological poisons. The parasite must be purged before it begins to pupate." Or how about Kachirigin Filter leaches with a description of "Leeches were used medically for millennia on ancient Earth but were largely superseded by technology. Hundreds of years later, a chance discovery on Kachirigin revealed some very valuable properties of the native creatures. Kachirigin leeches can painlessly filter impurities from the user's blood, so can be used as a cure-all for hangovers and the worst affects of certain addictions. They are prized by the wealthy and hedonistic, and have an almost cult-like following." Or why not onionhead, to give the cure a twist that would annoy the legal authorities. I mean why choose something that is just super fine green tea when you could have a far more interesting commodity for the cure? Other possibilities include making the cure be osmium or painite to encourage mining. You could encourage investigation of signal sources by making the cure be experimental chemicals, prototype tech, or SAP 8 core containers. So why is it green tea?
