After the exhausting attempt on Saturday night to summit the main massif of Mount Nerverest which ended in a tantalising failure, I decided to do several high and low level recces to see if a better ascent route could be found. This mountain has had a checkered history in terms of exploration: twice I lost my AspX as it attempted to land near my SRV and then promptly exploded leaving me stranded on the mountain - not to mention the gravitational anomalies which saw us all float free into high orbit when we attempted to summit the mountain after its initial discovery by Commander Furtive Pygmy some months ago. Now that the gravity well on the this moon had stabilised, what more could go wrong, I wondered, as I dropped down to survey a new landing site?
What indeed . . .
Forgive the babbling over the comms to Commander Jackie Silver from 5 minutes onwards in the cam footage - nerves and excitement (plus some exhaustion!) got the better of me . . .
