The Cycle Continues.

(Insert Game Title Under Discussion Here)

"Oooo... A trailer for a new game (or DLC.) Wow, that looks good. This could be the thing that finally gives my shallow and boring life meaning!"

"It's almost out! Getting excited. IGN is giving it rave reviews and the hype I'm seeing on social media is amazing. Everyone wants to get ahold of this 'genre redefining' game."

"$60 pre-order done. I'll be one of the first to have it on release. Wahoo!"

"Finally, release day. What the heck is this? A zero day patch, the UI is crap, the load times are too long, half the advertised game features are not included or look anything like the videos I saw. I'm not feeling the slightest bit immersed. Plus, this isn't how I want to play at all! I paid $60 for this and it's over in just thirty hours? Where is the rich depth I paid for, the story, the missions, the content? Where's the life defining moments I was expecting?"

"They lied to me. This isn't what I expected, at all. They just showed the good bits of the game in their pre-release videos and it looks like all of the reviewers were paid to say good things about it. This is crap! I don't feel any better about myself and it's all the game developers fault. It's their job to make my life more interesting and they've failed miserably. I'm going to rip them a new one on their Twitter feed and tell my friends not to buy this train wreck."

(LATER ON)

"Oooo... A trailer for a new game (or DLC.) Wow, that looks good..."

I have no doubt that the forum meta wars will be in overdrive, with salty click baiting trolls which is as @hellhawk666 notes not so amusing, despite this I think most people who play the game rather than play the forum meta, are going to enjoy and appreciate the up coming features, I certainly will, especially once they have bedded in and been balanced for the inevitable hiccups that all games have post any update...
