Am I the only one who thinks this narative feels like one of those sport episodes from saturday morning cartoons in the 80s/90s were the good guys and bad guys would for no reason play sports?

Anyway why is the dangerous games asking the teams to steal in this new round? thats just silly , thats like if the elections asked the prime minister to steal gold from retirement homes.

The dangerous games feel artificial and dont seem to fit in to the elite universe (to me at least)

In fact, there was no narrative justification for the Dangerous Games as far as I could tell. The idea of a 'contest' where someone was granted power status doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and as far as I heard, the games were not something sanctioned by the Pilot's Federation or anything like that. So I see the whole thing as a game mechanic to handle what, in lore terms, was a series of small scale conflicts and diplomatic backroom deals.
