Fiction "The Dark Wheel" - Sequel or expansion coming?

When this game was on Kickstarter, I recall there was mention of a sequel or expansion to the original novella 'The Dark Wheel'.

Does anyone know what that book is called and if it's still going ahead?

If you want a story about the elite, maybe you ought to look at 'and here the wheel' or 'Revelation' or a couple of stories in the anthology (well at least one) or a story based around Lave see 'Lave Revolution' or just do a search on amazon or look at the above threads to get an idea as to which you may prefer.

No, that's it. The Kickstarter said there would be a successor, not a sequel. We might see some elements like Raaxla and The Dark Wheel show up, but the characters from the original novella are all long dead by now.

Elite: Legacy is Frontier's in house produced novel by Michael Brookes. This is (I believe) the text referred to in the KS. How far (or near) this is connected to the Dark Wheel is up to its author.

Moving forwards as the elements of the Frontier/Elite Universe become clear to all of us, it would be nice to produce more fiction with elements of the original Dark Wheel story connected to them, but that's a conversation still to be had when Elite: Legacy is out and Frontier are ready to discuss it.

I think this is what the OP is referring to, taken from the kickstarter webpage for ED also from the kickstarter backers site.

I'm curious also when we are able to download this free product, Michael Brooks novel is not free. Any dev reply to this?

I know I'm not a dev, but just to pitch in... Michael stated that the "official sequel" is more of a "spiritual successor" to the Dark Wheel. Which is more or less to be expected, given that the book is being written by a different author.

I assume that your use of "we" is a reference to those who pledged £35 or more? If so, then I'm sure the digital download will be made available when it's ready to release. Which will hopefully be soon. :)

No announcement as far as I can remember.

Not 100% sure now why I logged in, must have been related to checking something about the KS bits 'n' bobs.

No announcement. Annoyed me. Ok was not released at start of the game I can forgive that but with no release time and all these email updates you think they could mention it or send a message that a new item has appeared in your downloadable area.
I had to go hunting.

Also in no way is it a sequel and sequel was what I was expecting (and paid extra for).
I did not expect the same characters but I did expect the story line to be "Dark Wheel" Centric.
Not knowing stories I'm interested in drives me mad.

The book was OK but thats all. Using the ED terminology pips to shields etc seemed quite forced at times and the end seemed rushed. Also quite a few typos.
