The death of sothis

Or supply/demand was bugged. It makes no sense that hundreds of commanders endlessly fly T9s filled with crap back and forth to pretty much irrelevant stations and earn obscene fortunes in no time while doing so. Its a bug in the BGS, not a sensible feature. The BGS should result in temporary 'gold rushes' that you find yourself for you and some friends. If endless number of people can endlessly grind it for no discernible reason it has nothing to do with supply/demand in the first place.

In other words: trade missions need to be tied to the commodity markets.

It's wasn't even a gold rush. Passenger missions were a gold rush. This was a fraction of that. People have only been looking at trade missions recently becuase it was the last line of work that hadn't dried up, and could actually make you money, rather than just break even.

That's if it is dead however. What rank are you with the local factions OP. Stations out there work the same as anywhere else? The friendlier you are, the bigger the pay. Unless you mean no more missions, which now that is silly becuase it's a mining outpost, it should still produce some goods. If not, then we're in the land of magic farting unicorns....

I am at the community goal station Wegner Market in Rind and this seems to offer some high value Imperial SLave missions from time to time. It has paid for all my ship transport costs at least.

Example: How do they get materials out to Colonia? If you haul something there, you'll get bubble prices for it.
We've had local production capabilities operational in Colonia for the last 18 months, with plentiful reserves of most types of goods, distributed production facilities with a bias towards high-technology applications, strong inter-system trade links, and currently only 8 million people total to provide for.

With the exception of a few luxury and patented goods of limited necessity - and I would certainly agree with increasing the distance cap on rares - or specific requests for meta-alloys (which we paid properly for) there hasn't been a need to haul commodities across the galaxy for a long time.

Sothis/Ceos is worse for the extra stations, but if you're happy to grab boom data missions for any faction it's still a 40m CR/hr potential. Every one of those 50k data runs spawns a 180k (ish) time bonus. A bit of board flipping will fill your mission quota.

If you're in a python then you make best money hauling Pd from Sothis mining. Just follow the mental calculation that you're looking for 30k+/tonne pay ratios before accepting a mission, eg 6m for 180t. They'll almost always have one or two with Pd, Au or Ag. Coming back, currently it's performance enhancers and consumer tech. ATM there's also an outbreak, and you can smuggle caffeinated drinks back in to Sothis mining pretty much risk free.

I ran my corvette along the bigger stations but I don't think it's as good without access to the mining outpost.

On the bright side, those new stations at least have semi decent outfitting options so you can fly out there light, then stock up on cargo racks and undersized shields.
