It’s currently a 250,000c piece of exploration equipment that can instantly make you a multi millionaire.

250,000 credits can be made in your first 5 or so jumps in the Sidewinder...

I’ve just mapped 4 planets in Fulastrobo and cashed in 8.5m credits and this is nothing, other systems in the bubble are worth considerably more...

The price of the DSS could be 20+ million credits and it would still be worth it.

As with all things in this game, it is what it is...and isn’t likely to change quickly.

Other threads in the past have talked about explorers wanting more advanced/expensive equipment and ships to advance to. Rather than cheaply D rating everything and slapping a scanner on...

I’m surprised they made mapping possible in the bubble, Sol isn’t mappable so it’s not like the mechanic isn’t available.

If FD want us to get out into the black, why are they making it so comfortable for us to stay at home? You can become an Elite Explorer just mapping a bunch of systems around Eravate...
