PvP The Dumbest things some Elite players believe: volume 1.

1) If youre interdicted by a player, the right thing to do is turn crimes off or its not a fair fight.
2) Its not griefing if youre a part of a power play faction.
3) There is no skill in flying big ships.
4) Turrets are for noobs only.
5)Hi waking out of a fght is the cowardly thing to do. You should stay and die for their pleasure.
6) Suicide ramming is not griefing.
7) its not grieifng if you are in a bigger more powerfull ship.
8)If your at a bounty hunting CG you should have crimes off or your a noob.
9) If you dont fly FA off your a noob.
10) There is no grind in Elite.

I wont be responding to this thread. Im just putting it out there and see what you all say.

Damnit man i wasnt gonna reply! But just to clarify : No, the S.S William has never been destroyed and yes i am a big fan of PVP.

They pulled you, they can deal with the cops.
2) Its not griefing if youre a part of a power play faction.
Don't sign up for power play if you don't want to be targeted.
3) There is no skill in flying big ships.
Big ship fights generally come down to who has the better stats. That said, throwing an Anaconda covered in PAs around takes more work than some realize. It's the 4-0-2, reverski types that give larges a bad name. I've noticed those people are helpless in anything with less than 7000 mj.
4) Turrets are for noobs only.
They have limited use among people who can effectively use more powerful fixed versions of the weapons.

There are few reasons to stick around and blow up. Doing so for someone else's satisfaction is not one of them.

No longer an issue with one of the past few updates if I remember right. One of the only true acts of 'griefing' to exist in game.

PvP under any circumstances is not griefing. In open play, you are able to attack, or be attacked by anyone at any time, for no reason whatsoever. The fact that a crime and punishment system exists in game further reinforces that. You cannot be banned by frontier for being a space terrorist, so long as you actions remain in-game, and you refrain from certain language and/or threats. All ships come equipped with weapons from the shipyard. Hint hint, the galaxy is dangerous, so prepare accordingly. Closest thing I would consider griefing would be clubbing seals in starter systems. Even the 'bad guys' don't do that most of the time.

If you get killed by a smaller ship, you should probably practice more, or make some changes to your vessel.

Lawful activities=Crimes on. Not participating in PvP? Crimes on. Again, this is the aggressor's problem. Pulling another player out while flying with crimes on is pretty lame, however, and doing so is often frowned upon by the PvP community.

To be a successful pilot, you need to at least have some basic understanding of flight assist off. You don't have to use it 100% of the time.
10) There is no grind in Elite.
There is most definitely some grind, however it isn't nearly as bad as people make it. If you know what you are doing, or have friends that know what they are doing, it's manageable, and may even be fun.

1+5 are nuts. If you're pulled, you have all the right to highwake and/or report crimes. Everyone who says otherwise is just salty because he can't get you without much effort.

2 is correct though. If you fly in open pledged to a faction, don't complain if you're shot by someone of another faction. Seriously.

Agree 100% It comes with the cost of those fancy upgrades you get with power play. I still want to know what do you call this person... puller, attacker, power player? "I was power played at the CG yesterday" hmmm

took the title seriously and thought about some way dumber things people seem to believe

1. space legs are coming
2. atmospheric planets are coming
3. somebody gives a crap about the feedback in focused feedback
4. there are 100 devs working on elite
5. they give a crap about bugs
6. anyway if you firmly believe and keep buying cosmetics this all will come true soon(tm)

but then it was just about op's salty tears because his silly painted cutter got blown up somewhere. nothing to see here ...
