I have always enjoyed historical photographs (and history too). I often wonder what it was like to have been there at that time and even wonder what might be going through the minds of the people in the pictures.
Some time ago I found a site with some interesting pictures depicting a then-and-now concept in one frame. Half of the photo was historical and it would morph/blend into a modern shot of the same place. IIRC the pictures were centered around Europe during WWII and modern times. They were very striking to say the least.
