The Elder Scrolls Online Thread

So, it's been out a week or so now... anyone got it? Installed it? Playing it? Thoughts?

I just bought it yesterday and after rebuilding my PC with the latest upgrade (a second GPU), two hours of installing from DVDs, plus about 12GB of patch downloads I didn't have time to play it other than fire it up to see if it works.

Anyone else playing?

not buying it, beta was bad & boring enough. wait for the next sp of the series is all i say.

with ed and ca (camelot unchained) coming this year or soon ™ i am gamed out :D

Yeah. It's OK, but it's no Skyrim. Seems to suffer from the same issues that I have with all MP games - dozens of people all doing the same thing at the same time (e.g. breaking someone out of jail) although separately.

I played Skyrim a ridiculous amount - probably more than any other game besides Civilisation or Elite, so it was a "must buy". Signed up for three months (+1 "free") so we'll see if it holds my interest enough to keep playing. Elite beta will be out during that time too.

civ & elite & elderscrolls - same here ^^

Civ (I-IV) & Elite & Elder Scrolls here as well! :)

Tried the Elder Scrolls online for _one_ beta weekend. That was enough for me. My 5-year-old daughter gave it a bit more playtime, however.

I bought ESO because a few gaming mates did. I thought it was OK for a few days but it's got dull now. Same old, same old.

I got on SWGemu a while ago, and it reminded me how depressing it is that MMOs took such a sharp turn from the direction they were heading before World of Warcraft came out. Sure, SWG was an unfinished buggy mess that was made worse by various "improvements", but what it got right it got really right, not least the feeling that you were in a real world. Or worlds.

I think the MMO genre is pretty much dead now. It just hasn't realised it yet.

Damn I miss SWG.... before the dark times, before the nge... now everything wants to WoW.

Played the beta , found it a little Dull

Much prefer Skyrim than ESO.

Also they have found this UBER issue and that is only going to make things worse.

That said, the next TES game needs to have co-op play ..
As much as I love solo TES, the ability to play with a friend would just be creamery. :D

Without doubt warts and all SWG was the best MMO I ever had the privilege to play.

I really like and enjoy playing the Elder Scroll games, but everything I liked about the single player versions isn't in ESO. Played beta for one weekend and that was enough.

Amen to that.

SWG was actually the first online MMO I played, I still remember how excited I was when I logged on for the first time.

There was SO much to do and so many different combinations of skills, very few players were the same or even looked the same.

I had an energy farming racket setup in the desert of Tatooine and spent most of my time there hunting, it was a really immersive universe.

what they did to that game has to go down as one the biggest crimes in gaming history, they had something really special and completely blew it.

They should just shut ESO down now and do what FF did. Fix the game and relaunch a year later or what not. BOTS and Hackers are completely destroying the game. Sad because I was looking forward to it. I don't mind paying a sub as long as it's worth it. Good servers and support etc. Unfortunately Zenimax is about as good at MMOs as they are with TV's.
