The Enforcer Cannon is a fun, fresh take on the multicannon - ruined by only being available in Small size

It's no secret that Pranav Antal offers absolute trash to his supporters. Arguably, he is the only Power with bonuses worse than Winters - he gifts us the same crappy influence boost, but we also receive higher fines and bounties in his control systems. Mechanically, he pretty much does not reward players for their efforts. However, since PP launch we had one tiny little hope in the distance - that the Enforcer Cannon would at least be an interesting and fun weapon to use. It certainly sounded that way - a cannon with a slower rate of fire but higher damage is pretty cool. I was planning to outfit my Python with nothing BUT Enforcer Cannons and PvP as a gunboat for a while. Then the weapon actually came out.

First of all, shame on Frontier for calling it the "Enforcer Cannon" and not even telling us that it was, in fact, a multicannon. Not that I terribly mind, I actually like that idea more, but it's not fair to not tell us what reward we can expect. Second, this fairly original, fun take on the multicannon - a variant that many people actually requested since launch - is rendered absolutely useless for most setups by being only small and fixed. I was fully expecting a somewhat weak unique weapon, but to receive one that I genuinely cannot even use on my ship is a slap in the face after already pledging to a Power that FD clearly, obviously doesn't care about at all. Please, just give us that weapon at least in medium, that way it will be useful on almost every ship in the game. Just give Antal this one thing, just so we have *something* to show for our efforts. The current situation is simply insulting.

From the stats it looks like the "impact" multicannon varient from beta and gamma, cant remember if that was in multiple class sizes back then.

Completely agree.

I thought the Enforcer Cannon was going to be a slower-firing, harder-hitting CANNON...not a multi-cannon. That alone sucks. But then to find out it's only available in small...AND fixed?! I just...I just don't know what to say at this point.

Oh wait, yes I do. Make the god***n PP weapons available in S/M/L and with gimballed and turreted version where appropriate (laser/kinetic available in all, railgun/PA only where they should be)...like everyone thought they were going to be, since they weren't specified like the Pulse Disruptor, Retribution Beam, and Pacifier Frag were.

I'm not sure if they were having a big ol' crackpipe session or what over at FD when they were designing these weapons...and their descriptions...but holy hell. What a mess. Completely disappointed. Pretty much everything besides the Imperial Hammer is a straight downgrade, with only a few being sidegrades (PA, shield, maybe Frag Cannon). What a waste of 4 weeks. Not to say I wouldn't have been playing the game, but I sure as hell wouldn't have been working so hard to gain merits for a completely and utterly useless weapon.

Spot on. Why is it a technology based religion should not produce the best tech in the game? It would offset the crap 'bonuses' we put up with.

Make the lore match the power!

Well the high impact multi came in class 2 cus I had one amd it was awsome... sold it befor I knew they had been removed. :(

guess we can kiss good buy to the hope the gammer wepons will ever come back or anything close to them out side of PP

The fact that Pranav Antal's bonuses and his unique weapon have absolutely, completely no connection to his lore is another issue. I don't even have high enough expectations to even mention that problem, tbh. I just want a weapon I can actually use.

Also thought i was getting cannons to replace my size 2 fixed :( Damn you FD tempting me with false advertising shakes fist).

All i can say is i hope this is the min weapons just to get at least 1 ingame per power and more sizes and types were there should be to still be added.

The Enforcer cannon is pretty fun to tell the truth but needs to be gimballed at least and come in other sizes.

I always given to think that religion was based on belief and faith.
I learn something everyday on this forum.:)

The thing is why do we have lore at all if it serves no purpose? Antal should be weak, but clever and have a tech bonus because he is in control of millions of engineers.

Sorry,going OT.

Pranav Antal's Utopia is specifically based on technology, and the betterment of humanity through "ethically-aligned technology". Pranav Antal's title is "Simguru" - the "Sim" part likely relating to sims as in virtual reality experiences. The lore for Utopia mentions they develop and freely share some of the most advanced technology in the galaxy.

Oh I was looking forward to a cannon. That's a shame I was looking forward to a cannon that went "BOOM" every once in a while.

A religion?

Yes, it's a recycled High Impact Multicannon. They did used to come in medium size and gimbaled versions too.

If Antal were to get all the multicannon variants as faction perks a huge chunk of the player base would join his cult. They were by far the best modified weapons in Beta/Gamma.

As a non-PP player I am relying on FD to make sure that the faction specific modules do not unbalance the game overall. Making them into super weapons would be blatantly unfair on those of us who choose not to pledge to a power.

They should be novelty items which might make some tactical differences to gameplay but please dont ask for them to be overpowered versions of what is already in the game. Sandro made it clear some time ago that they would be nerfed if they had a disproportionate affect.

Exactly. I remembered all the rage when power specific modules were announced. Seems that was overblown as usual. This weapon seems really interesting on smaller ships. Mostly Viper, cobra and dbs, but I can see them on an Adder too.

As a bonusit'll force me to practice fixed multis, always been to lazy for that...

Right so it's not a cult and it's not religious in anyway. The guy makes technology stuff and simulators.

The dude has a creepy portrait and the goal of creating utopia just screams cult. Reminds me of other technology worshipping fanatics like Comstar/Word of Blake or the Brotherhood of Steel.

They explicitly said they won't be OP or any way interesting in 'more powerful' way.
