Have any of the authors here been tempted to use a charcter name as their own commander name?
Apart from anything else, we put a lot of thought into the naming of our characters (or should do). There is also the great responsibility of giving yourself a name you can see yourself living with for the several years of your E: D existence. Wouldn't it be awful if you had to buy another license just so you could bury a seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time persona?
The downside would be that you may be nothing like the person you're sharing a name with, to the disappointment (or amusement) of your readers. Or they may see you as a worthwhile target.
I confess I have changed my name (again), and as the form will be locked soon, this may well be my last chance to get it right.
