The federal corvette is a ship that we currently don't know mush about but we can always speculate. The devs gave us a teaser in newsletter 63 and it looked like a beast of a ship. I cant wait till it comes out because i think it will be like a combat focused anaconda casting about 80 mil (because combat focused ships usual cost less then multi purpose ships). I am hoping it will have more fire power or about the some fire power or 4 maneuverability and better shields then the anaconda.

I really hope the federal corvette comes out next patch but it will probably come out in the patch after next because passenger and passenger ships will probably be introduced next patch. As long as at some poit in time we see federal corvette demolishing imperial owned not so special anacondas i will be happy. please feel free to share your ideas on the federal corvette and thought firepower maneuverability etc.

I think you have the price way to low. I will be sadly disappointed if you could pick one up for a mere 80 million. It is at least as large as a Conda (compare them on a landing pad. Nearly identical in size) but it is going to have a beast of hard points and fire power. Remember. The FDL was supposed to be 100 mil but the nerfed the price because of public out cry. They can't keep doing that to every ship. Eventually people are going to have to suck it up and bite the bullet. I think you are looking at nearly the same price as the Conda...if not more.

It wont be over the codas 140 mil because all combat ships cost less than there multi couterparts eg the viper costs 120,000 and the cobra cost 350,000

We'll see. It's all speculation. What was the counter parts for the Vulture (20 mil original price tag) and the FDL (100 mill original price tag)?

I don't like comparing Vulture to Asp because the Vulture was never supposed to cost less than the Asp and after outfitting, the Vulture does cost a fortune compared to Asp. The Vulture therefore is not to the Asp what that Viper is to the Cobra. Using the O.P.'s analogy of Viper - Cobra...The Vulture (20 mil) should have been the Clippers (21 mil) counter part and the FDL (100 mil) was supposed to be the Anaconda's (149 mil). Who's to say they do not come out with the Federal Corvette at say...180 million credits and another multi-purpose ship (Boa? is that multi-purpose? someone that knows tell me please) at say 210 million (and then the Panther Clipper at 250mil I hope...lol)? And that is only if FD is using that logic as well. I think they made a mistake at the timing of the Vulture and FDL, miss judging the player base. I think the DB Scout, DB Explorer and Imperial Courier would have been better release on 1.2 with their current prices and then released the Vulture and FDL for 1.3 at regular price. I think more of the player base wouldn't have been shell shocked by the prices as much that way. But these are just my opinions and opinions are not as valuable as most people like to think they are.

Who says the Corvette will be the Anaconda's counterpart? It is possible the Panther Clipper (bigger than an Anaconda) may be a multi-purpose ship and not a pure freighter, and the Corvette could be its counterpart instead.

IfIf you cut the out the part behind the cockpit/bridge and put a line down the middle of the front of the ship, it looks like a Farragut Battle Cruiser. I'm hoping that that section behind the deck has room to dock a ship in, like something up to a Viper in size. Maybe just Sidewinder, like the description of the Anaconda claims it can carry.

I will get this shipno matter what because it looks so awesome. Even if FD makes it suck because it is a federal ship lol. Still looks like a mini capital ship!

The Anaconda and Python aren't military boats, just glorified combat traders. (if you ever owned them in previous incarnations)

I really hope the Corvette gets spec'd for military use, like the Vulture/Eagle.

I'd pay 100 million for the FDL, if it had 6 size parts rather than the 5 size parts for Thrusters, FSD and Powerplant. Feels a bit like a fish out of water with the lower rated parts in those slots since the Clipper at half the price is more comparable to the Python when it comes to the Module sizes for the powerplant and thrusters.

If the current pattern is anything to guess by, you *could* put all the nice stuff on the ship for combat....except you probably can't as combat ships always get power plants one size too low.

Agreed. I think it will be primarily combat-focused, which means it will have lots of Utility Slots, but not many internal compartments and its FSD and Power Plant will be one grade below where it would be on a multi-role.

As to cost... somewhere around the 120-180MCr mark, I would guess.
