The Fight for Liaedin

Liaedin. I'm not entirely sure about the back story to this remote Imperial system. On the fringes of Federation space and surrounded by Independents, and nearly 100ly+ away from the main body of Imperial space. I have set up camp here, and recently the status has gone to 'boom'. I have made it my mission to expand the borders of Liaedin, and ensure that the Empire closes the gap between this remote system and the main body of the Empire in Achenar.

Fellow Imperials, feel free to make your way over.

This is excellent news Commander! Liaedin was my first destination and home after escaping the clutches of Federation space. I had done a lot of work there but didn't see much change and have since moved on into deeper Empire space.

Seems the backlog of system influence updates that finally cleared (according to MB) has finally caused all my (and your) hard work to finally come to some progress.

I have bigger ships now, so I will certainly be making a trip back to that first home of mine and keep the boom going!

Liaedin was also my stepping stone to Imperial space. Sounds like it's worth a trip back to visit the old haunts :).

It was disputed during the time of FE2, and has been a battlefield in times before that. The conflict was settled by turning the system into an Imperial Enclave, but from what I've read in the gazetteer, I think it's pretty independent.
I've been a lot in this region since release, as I've taken a liking to both Liaedin and the Independent 31 Aquilae system nearby. I'm at Eranin right now, but I might head over here tomorrow to do some missions.

31 Aquilae is a great place to buy mineral extractors or food for export to Liaedin. The return trip is a bit harder, but you can profit from trading metals to the Industrial stations at 31 Aquilae, or you can head over to the refineries nearby, buy ceramics, and sell that in 31 Aquilae, making a nice 3-leg trade run.

I've been doing a fair few missions for the Patron's Principles which are the Empire faction (I hope). Surprisingly, a lot of their 'kill missions' target authority ships. In Liaedin. I don't understand because the Patron's Principles are the controlling faction and thus have the authority ships. I avoid those for now. It's a long bridge we have to build from Liaedin to established Empire space. But a worthy challenge.

Eloped to Empire space shortly after release, made it to Balicarnassus (or whatever it's called) but due to the limited linking between players I assumed that those areas were just abandoned and eventually headed back to Liaedin where things have been far more interesting.

Would be amazing to try to expand into LHS 3505 since it's a high-tech system. Olivas City is currently my home.

We should put together a list of systems that would be good to turn. This boom can affect neighbors

I have also ben working in Liaedin for Patron's Principles for the last week or so. It has been in a boom state for several days now, with 83% influence. I have been doing a lot of mission running there, and will be continuing to do so for the next little while. I did notice the other day, after doing a delivery run to Volungu, that the station I stopped in had a full list of Patron's Principle mission on it's bulletin board. I haven't been back to check again, so not sure if it was a glitch or not, or if I was just seeing what I wanted to see. :)

Cheers,

Fellow Liaedin resident here. Not to rain on people's parade but the whole galaxy seems to be going into a boom phase right now. I've been here for 3 weeks and I haven't seen the bar change from 83% the whole time.

Also I don't get why Patron's Principles gives missions to destroy our own authority ships. I ignore them as well. I can say that the authority ships seem to be the same faction as at least Kohl Terminal.

I'd love to see the empire expand in that area as well.

I'm with Apoc here. That cluster of stars has the best stability in all the galaxy. It's great for trade, good for business. ;)

They were expanding to Volungu a while ago. So when i'm farming imperial rep i prioritise missions to and from Volungu to help egg them on :)

Would be great to have 2 imperial systems new newbieville, show those feds that stations don't have to be grey and ugly.

I also recently moved to Liaden as it was the only Empire system which I could find from my starting home of LHS 3447 (or something similar, I just started playing sporadically a few weeks ago) in the Federation of Sloth. I'll be doing my part to bring the good word of the Empire here.

If there is enough interest in this area, we could compile a list of sites to see, things to do, where to drop off the laundry. (Hint, it's Cook Terminal in Furbaide) ;)

I'm in the neighborhood and it's my resident imperial bounty redeemer, on friendly terms with the locals, I'll have to go and take a more active role and take missions from there and not just go get my paycheck.

Liaedin has been my home for 3 weeks now as well. Read the missions closely. Patron's principals that owns Kohl station is pretty much the mafia from the empire, not the empire Itself. Being criminals, they naturally don't like the imperial authority.

I too have an interest in Liaedin, but mine is to cause such a hellish spitfire of damage and pirating in this system that players will be very daring to choose to assist these Imperial Stations. I will start my onslaught once I've purchased my Python, so that I may be better suited for taking on multiple cmdrs at once.

That's why it'd normally be problematic, but not for expansion purposes - skirting the law is pretty neat when the Feds/Independents are running the system ;)

Well, there have been some changes in the system from last night for sure. The Crimson faction is up to 7% all of a sudden, and in a boom state. Apparently someone is standing up to the onslaught. :) Also, it is interesting that PP is at 83%, Crimson at 7% and Liaedin Electronics is at 8%. That is 98%. The other two factions read as 0% so I am not sure where the other 2% has gone. Maybe a faction at 0 still represents a 1% influence. As well as all this, the PP info has changed from boom with a pending expansion, to boom, with a civil war critical and expansion pending. Interesting.
