The final word on alpha and beta access

  • You have two types of access, one alpha, the other beta
  • Each person in the alpha has access until the premium beta comes in and the alpha comes out but the people in the alpha are still in
  • When all the premium beta are in and the alphas who stayed in are finished, they are not out, the standard beta comes in
  • Sometimes you get people who have alpha and beta
  • When the people in the standard beta have joined those from the premium beta and the alpha in being in, they all stay in until the they become a gamma
  • There are two men called Braben and Brookes who stay in all the time, they decide when the alpha or betas are in or out
  • When all the alphas, the premium betas and the standard betas have become gammas and have all been in for a while before coming back out then that is the end of testing and the game is released.

I thought,
THe Gamma stage is for all backers "who back a copy of the game."

So Alpha - Alpha's only
Beta 1 - Alphas + Beta premiums (or First beta backers)
Beta 2 - Alphas + Beta premiums (or First beta backers) + 2nd Beta backers (beta standards)
THEN
Gamma - Everyone who backed or pre-ordered


As I understand it... I could be wrong...

I was out of Alpha and in Beta whilst in KS, as of last night however I am in Alpha, so will be in Beta 1 and in Beta 2 and in Gamma... I wont be in and out or shaking it about though.

Michael's beard was in but then went out but eventually will go back in again. His previous full release beard was reduced to pre-alpha level, but went up to beta beard status for a while. Hopefully by now it should be at gamma level, maybe even release candidate with upcoming expansions.

It crosses my mind that Umpire Barley decide's when the Alpha's/Beta's and Gamma's are out for obstructing the forum.
I guess that means too that the Lave Radio crew are the commentators.

The entire FD team do this every morning to loosen up, I saw it whilst I was working on one of their photocopiers...

But for people who buy Elite pre-order in shop are not backers they are just pre-order customers? They also get gamma and not just commercial release. They get Elite gamma as soon as beta finishes.
