General / Off-Topic The Fountain War - Kickstarter Book Project.

"Two vast space empires, once close allies, find themselves on the brink of a galaxy-spanning war of annihilation. As the situation unravels and chaos spreads, political machinations are exposed, agents reveal their cunning sabotage, and devastating battles erupt where thousands of starships clash - this is the Fountain War."

First I just would like to say that I understand that this is not Elite related and I was at first planning on posting on the off-topic area, however, considering how abandoned (player wise) that section is and considering how unique and interesting (if of course you are into this sort of thing) is what's happening, I decided to post here and maybe raise the awareness of perhaps a few CMDR's that might find this sort of space opera stuff, interesting. Without further ado then..

Two years ago the EvE landscape changed completely. The two major galactic Empires on the game fought for control on what is known as the Fountain region in the hopes of taking control of the gold mine that that sector had become. This conflict led to the biggest battles/stories the game had ever seen up to this point and it even managed to get the attention from the internacional media.

The reason that I'm posting this however is that there is a project to make said event into a book. I'll let the video explain.

If by the way you want to understand in more detail what happened there, Scott Manley posted a video about it recently.

And as a curiosity, here's a video that takes a quick glimpse on the fight that ended the war. The Battle for 6VDT-H.

Thank you for your time.

WTH? Asking for donations on competing games site for a book about another game?

Poor form, old bean.

If this were for a fan created Elite book, I might send it some cash... but for Eve?

They got a fanbase, they can support it.

I can't see anywhere in my post a place where I ASKED for donations (as a matter of fact, I have not yet donated). This is basically just a PSA for those that find this sort of stuff interesting and would like perhaps to keep it under their radar and see where it goes - nothing more, nothing less.

No one said you must care for it. Next time take some extra moments to read and absorb what was said before posting.

THe Elite Dangerous discussion forums are for just that..... discussing Elite: Dangerous.
Apologies Sir! Thank you nonetheless for moving it towards the off-topic zone.
