I want to start this by saying please do not be vitriolic and make this a hate thread. Passion is one thing, but do not be vile. This game has given many of us a "home away from home". It's a beautiful place isn't it? My screensaver on the laptop I type this on is a slideshow of GIGS of my screenshots. We've made friends and lost them, we've fought each other and helped each other all inside of this world that FDev has given us. I thank you for that FDev. You are beautiful minds for making this creation, and it is very sad to see where things are headed...I hope that its a bright road ahead, but for us console players it looks very bleak. Losing years of our time for naught...for more credits, which we wouldnt even be able to use to get the ships we used to have without the grind again. Some of us (myself included) are upset that all of our discoveries mean nothing. Our names on those systems in the vastness of space, will not follow us to the new world. No way to prove we've done these amazing things. Just distant memories, that will eventually go away.
Elite does not just exist as a game...it is a record of an alternate path of humanity. What would we have been like as a space faring civilization? What would we accomplish? What could we see and uncover? For many of us the roleplay was just that. Speaking for myself, I was a lonely explorer from the Sol system. Raised on stories of old space missions, and old explorers and eventually becoming one myself and becoming Elite Ranked, and joining the top echelon of the Pilots Federation. We can explore these fantasies in this world. Inside of Elite, inside our homes. Never having to worry about the true terrors of space.....It's a beautiful place isn't it?
For many of us right now its not looking beautiful. There is one thing we want FDev. Us console players just want our ENTIRE PERSONA transferred to the PC side so we can experience all of the things Odyssey has to offer with our friends. See all the new sights. These things already exist. Its the same base game, our accounts are already linked. We understand if it cant be immediate, but we just want SOME reassurance that not all is lost. This thread exists as a place for us to express ourselves and explain why and what we would like. This isn't a boycott or a "FdEv EViL" post either. We're deep lovers of this community and world, and want to continue to be such...but feel hurt a betrayed by the lack of transparency as far as the console side of ED is concerned.
