The Future of Elite: Dangerous.

So, a little bit of background. I first pre-ordered Elite when I heard the release was nigh. I'd been following the development on and off, and was itching for a good space sim. After playing the 1.0 release for a week, I was sorely disappointed with the overall lack of content and direction in the game, as polished and well-made as it obviously was.

A friend of mine, similarly disappointed, used the term: "Mile wide, inch deep." At the time, I thought he hit the nail on the head.

I quit, not sure if I'd ever come back.

Elite today still suffers from many of the problems that it had in the beginning - Repetitive gameplay, soulless grinding, and little to aspire to but a fully-outfitted Anaconda, to name just a few. But I came back with 1.3, and I think I'm back for good, because slowly, slowly, the game is starting to feel more like a living universe with every new gameplay element that is added. I recently bought my first Anaconda, outfitted it for trade, and am making between thirty and fifty million credits every day.

Today I saw this video, one that most of you have probably already seen. Only, I was seeing it for the first time.

To hear Mr. Braben describe all of this gave me chills. If Frontier Developments manages half the content promised here, the game will certainly do better than even Star Citizen has - And I've been very excited about that game for a while.

The Wings and Powerplay updates were all very welcome, but do we have the slightest hint of a timescale for things like being able to walk around your ship, or landing on planets? Just give my Anaconda an interior I can wander for a couple of hours, and NPC crew. That's all I ask.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the latest information on the development of these features?

30-50 M Cr. daily... I guess it's gotten easier to earn money (I am just doing missions for the last month or so, pre. 1.3 I am lucky if I get 2 M. Cr a week, now it's 2-3 M Cr. a day), but slow down man...

Can't. Won't. Been looking for jobs, but in my free time (which I have plenty of) I'm slogging towards the goal of being able to buy a second Anaconda and outfit it for combat with the best components available. Know what that'll cost me? 660 million. I've got a long way to go.

I agree, I would just like to know what stage of development we're at. It seems like a few things are happening that haven't been discussed prior.

Well yeah, I got that kind of Anaconda and I can outfit 2 more like it if I want to... Well you got a lot of free time so more power to you I guess...
