The Galactic Bounty Hunting Bulletin Board - Traders, post your troubled systems here

Are you being hounded out of systems by members of the Pilot's Federation?

Are your trade routes becoming unsafe?

Do psychopaths nip at your heels?

If so, post your troubles here. No naming and shaming of particular Commanders, however, if you're facing larger than usual oppression from Commanders in a particular system then let us know.

The aim is that any bounty hunters can check this thread and see where the problem areas are, help protect traders and hopefully make a bit of money in return.

Anyone who has fallen victim to piracy or lunacy, please post the sytem, and if possible the ship types and loadouts that you have encountered. This way bounty hunters can equip accordingly and hopefully help protect the systems you trade in.

Understandably our response in anarchy systems will be limited as finding wanted targets would not be easy. But any systems with governance, if you post here, those in the area can hopefully come to your aid swiftly.

+Rep ... great idea, obviously Altair and Lave are usually good hunting grounds, but it will be great to get updates of where the 'bad players' are hanging out ... I'd rather not hear about role-player pirates though, for sure I don't like them, but if they're prepared to actually let people go, then we should let them go too.

I was hoping Lave had calmed down since I left a couple of weeks back, may have to go back there and do some protection runs. Didn't know about Altair though. Hoping this'll be good for those persistant places to catch frequent Commander killing, I'm guessing the occasional cargo snatching pirate who moves about will probably not gain enough notoriety to be mentioned.

Hoping this can be a place that'll catch the systems where player run blockades are making innocents lives hell or psychos are attacking Commanders launching from starports by firing into the letterbox etc...

This is a good idea, and I'm all for it.

outside of the game I work in QA, so there is a but.

"............but, as poster number 2 said, how to make sure we get the right information. Are BH after role playing pirates that allow victims to "dry out" or are we after the less salubrious variety of "pirate".

i.e. The ones that shoot first and then sift the wreckage, or those that fire without warning, or those that serial interdict.

or are we after those that are not in fact pirates, but give real pirates a bad name. I.e those that sit in stations firing missiles at traders docking to activate point defences. This who "blockade" systems by using freewinders and freagles as battering rams.

Me, I'll go for numbers two and three any time, number 1, well they just are playing the game, and we need them to make it interesting.

Aye. Not all poirates arrrr bad. Just out to make an honest livin', they arrrrr. Drop some cARRRgo and the traders go free, they do. Remember, they're the spice of the game. Without 'em, yer trade run is just another borin' one.

Would work if you could guarantee you would be on the same server.... however you can be in the same system I am and we never be able to see each other since you are on a different server...

Great idea indeed.

I personally see pirates as a good point to the game and let them do their business, what I personally don't stand are Griefers. These need to be haunted like rats... :D

Whilst this thread can be a catch all solution I'd expect it mostly to be people causing trouble, camping outside of stations, serial interdicting etc... However there may be times that a particularly nails pirate is about with a huge bounty on their head, staying in one system and some bounty hunters might want the pay day. But generally I'd expect it's serial stuff and could certainly help against the griefers.

Found another thread from Pheyes and Scorpyon (hope they don't mind the name check) saying there's a couple of missile Vipers station sniping and serial interdicting at Beta Sculpturis (Fan Horizons?) at the moment. Report was posted at 10:11am, I may check after lunch.

Edit: Additional information coming in that the same is happening at George Lucas station in Leesti.

Great Idea. As bounty Hunters we should be making a pirates life as enjoyable as possible.................and hopefully a little shorter :)

I am near Lave currently, not much action

Check out George Lucas in Leesti, reports of action coming in (I editted the above post but you may not have seen it.)

I ONLY go for ships that are wanted in the system I am in.

I offer my services to protect traders. I have a kill count of about 60 right now and they keep piling up. I'm a bounty hunter, I don't kill innocent people, only criminals.
Look me up if you are interested. I'm currently in Aulin system.

CMDR. Zas'Haemis vas Wodir at your service.

399 so far collected.
I will only hunt the lowly dogs that prowl our trade routes.
I'm currently in & around the Saka area. If there is any word of traders in need do not hesitate to send word for aid.

CMDR Wodir out.

Come to Gliese 868 and claim my bounty! I have a charter from the Empire to privateer in Fed space but I'm still seen as an outlaw by the locals.

Folks,

I've created a website to facilitate the reporting and viewing of Pirate Activity. Traders can report and Bounty Hunters can make use of the reports to hunt down pirates.

The details are here in this thread .... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=112730

Cheers

Good stuff Tovrin, will have to check that out. Looks like the activity in Yembo is bringing a fair amount of pirates into the area so will be a good place to get some bounty hunter action and help the traders make their runs for the station.

Once I get back from my exploration adventure I may have to check Gliese 868 too. May have to rebalance my ships first... those power draws...
