Edit: Even smaller...

I started to add some records here : https://www.edsm.net/en/statistics/bodies

Nothing for the celestial bodies yet, but will add them soon. If you have a list I will gladly add them when working on it.

For each type of body, we can start with:
- farthest from Sol/Colonia
- lightest / heaviest
- smallest / largest

Considering how fleeting some records can be I can't help but wonder how practical it is to put them on the map to begin with, especially if someone's going to come along later on down the line and break it. What happens in that circumstance anyway?

I will try to get to some of the locations today, apart from photos what information is needed?

Nvm, I've read the OP :)

if I remember correct, Sadr Logistic Depot had all services except outfitting and shipyard.
Missions(2 factions) , Lounge, UC, Refuel, Repair and HoloMe for sure...

thats the location where the "Cocoon Asteroid Base" should be...
cant find a base over here in the Cocoon Nebula area at all...

a population of 1500 searched by "size" in the galmap filter is difficult as the icon isnt really bigger than a system without population
or do I miss something ?!
but it should be independent or whatever
and cant find a systems with any allegiance over here...

I'm on my way back to the bubble from Colonia. I can check out some of the Astroid Bases en-route. How should I give you the information?

I'm around Sagan Research Centre, and I took some screens, I hope it helps.

Screens:

Thanks for all your help and submissions. But please (as stated several times in the OP) make your contributions in the main Galactic Mapping Thread.

That way you are certain that they are not overlooked by the mapping team. This thread is more for discussion on what currently needs fleshing out but not for the actual data submission itself.

Thank you again for all your help - the mapping project would not be the same without you :)

I just post the last update thread to show where we're at. Several asteroid bases have been added both in description and imagery. There seem to be more asteroid bases as one might expect so let them coming. Please also bear in mind that we'd like to stick to astronomical nomenclature where possible, so if you discover a group of stars in NGC 9988 sector please check with astronomical databases like SIMBAD or the NGC and/or Collinder catalogue instead of naming it the Pink Unicorn Nebula.

Megaship info: As of now we are not going to add megaships; at least not those in ze Bubble as it would further clutter the area. If you encounter megaships outside ze Bubble please submit them nonetheless, best as part of a POI system. We might review them on an individual basis. As an example, we included the Sagan-class Tourism ship along with the POI description of Alteira's Eye and a nice image of it.

Well, as an example... [big grin]

Please be so kind and move all your submissions to the Galaxy Mapping Project main thread and keep our basic submission structure in mind:

Name of the feature
POI type
System reference (or coordinates where applicable)
Descrption
Image (best Imgur hosted around 600x340)

You are doing us a great favour in terms of creating or editing entries into the Elite Dangerous Star Map. [up][up]

- IC 1805
- Alteira's Eye (POI visitor list was also activated, as befits a tourism megaship )
- Heart & Soul Nebulae
- Farsight Expedition Base (Asteroid Base)
- Base Camp (Asteroid Base)

- Chi Persei Cluster (NGC 884)
- h Persei Cluster (NGC 869)
- The Zurara

Not added:
- The Harmony (megaship POI currently discussed)
- Fisher's Rest (megaship POI currently discussed)
- De machinis exspiravit (as it's obviously a glitch in the game)
- D'artagnan And The 3 Musketeers (although quite a sight, as a galactic feature it's still too common)
- Nokon and Konsho (orbiting WW-TC's are still just too common)
- Little Brother (same here: orbiting gas giants are quite common)
- Purgatory (ELWs are very common, even when distance-measured against SgrA*)
- Scylla and Charybdis (neutron 'fields' or groups 1,000 ly below the plane are well known and not that rare)

Thanks for all the fantastic submissions. The galaxy wouldn't be the same without you
