In the year 3301, in a hastily built asteroid station in the Karama System, an unprecedented secret meeting took place among the leaders of the major powers and factions. The details of this
meeting continue to be kept closely guarded, but the topic centered around one thing: something or someone was quietly manipulating human actions.
The actions were very subtle, an unexpected death here, the loss of a ship or fleet there, unexplained disappearances,
unknown illnesses, unaccounted cost overruns on construction projects….the list went on. Federation President Halsey went on to say, “There are forces out there, doing something, I don’t know what, but I know this will not end well for humanity. We must push back this darkness. We must fight back in the same shadows as this enemy!”
So, without precedent, all the leaders came together, Federation, Imperial, and Alliance, as did all the major factions, regardless of ethos, and formed a task force, charged with investigating
the strange goings on in the shadows, researching the happenings, uncovering the rumor, identifying the legend, defending humanity against an unknown foe, all without being noticed.
From this, the Galactic Rangers were born. Looking into the xeno-threats, researching the working of the considered disbanded INRA, watching over AEGIS, and preparing to defend Earth itself.
All of this being done under the ancient Latin motto: "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" "Who's Watching the Watchers?"
